Direct link between Assad and gas attack elusive for U.S.
Reuters ^ | September 7, 2013 | Mark Hosenball

(Reuters) - With the United States threatening to attack Syria, U.S. and allied intelligence services are still trying to work out who ordered the poison gas attack on rebel-held neighborhoods near Damascus.

No direct link to President Bashar al-Assad or his inner circle has been publicly demonstrated, and some U.S. sources say intelligence experts are not sure whether the Syrian leader knew of the attack before it was launched or was only informed about it afterward.

Is reuters calling John F! Kerry a liar? Because he said it’s for sure Assad is responsible.

I think they’re trying to find a way to back Obama out of his own stupidity. I hope so, at least.

He himself is too arrogant and self-obsessed to want to do this, but there must be some more realistic people left around him, particularly in the military, who realize the potential damage (such as setting off WWIII) that could result from his rash and irrational acts. I think they’re trying to give him an out.

Yup. When I read the headline, I knew for sure that this is creating the escape hatch the Dear One needs to get out of the quagmire of his own making. WAIT! We can’t bomb Syria because Assad didn’t do it!

I think they’re trying to find a way to back Obama out of his own stupidity.

That may well be the case. Just my opinion, but I said that yesterday that he will not launch. It will be easy for the knee padders to spin that as his unprecedented wisdom backing away from the brink.

The real danger of Dear Leader backing down is the damage that will be caused when John McCain's head explodes. He came close the other night when some constituents challenged him. The pResident pulling back from the brink just might push him over the edge.

Wasn't Fast & Furious a false flag type operation, illegally letting guns 'walk' into Mexican drug cartels hands as a means to promote greater gun control in the USA.

Bengahzi was a gun running operation where the consulate and CIA annex was attacked and hundreds of missiles were stolen, not a protest about an obscure Internet video.

So the skepticism is fully warranted in the chemical weapon use in Syria.

To a Saul Alinsy disciple like Obama, the end always justifies the means.

"The Syrian government, backed by Russia, blames Sunni rebels for the gas attack. Russia says Washington has not provided convincing proof that Assad's troops carried out the attack and called it a "provocation" by rebel forces hoping to encourage a military response by the United States."

BINGO!!!

And who are the "rebels" -- a bunch of Al Qaeda and other terrorists.

Just checked and SwiftVets website still exists.

Kerry never did sign a form 180 to provide access to his full military records. IIRC it is a SF 186, but no difference - he wouldn't sign one. That's because he received a general discharge under less than honorable circumstances in the late 70s because of his anti-war, ON ACTIVE DUTY, activities in DC and in Paris (IIRC). The honorable discharge he has is dated later than the one he would have gotten. That's because his discharge was amended under the Carter Vietnam Amnesty which repatriated all the Canadian Refugee War Cowards, and the traitors like Kerry who were a disgrace.

And Russia has proof that “the rebels” used the chemical weapons. Isn’t it interesting that there is PROOF for that, there is NO proof that Assad did it and Obama wants to fight on the side of the “rebels”.

Russia gave UN 100-page report in July blaming Syrian rebels for Aleppo sarin attack

“The Russian report is specific,” the ministry statement said. “It is a scientific and technical document.”

The statement’s summary of the report said that neither the munitions nor the poison gas in the Khan al Asal attack appeared to fit what is possessed by the Syrian government.

According to the statement, the report said the shell “was not regular Syrian army ammunition but was an artisan-type similar to unguided rocket projectiles produced in the north of Syria by the so-called gang ‘Bashair An-Nasr.’”

Al Qaeda-linked rebels battle Syrian army troops near Christian village

http://www.thestar.com/news/world/2013/09/05/al_qaedalinked_rebels_battle_syrian_army_troops_near_christian_village.html

Government troops battled Al-Qaeda-linked rebels for a Christian village in western Syria for a second day Thursday, while world leaders gathered in Russia for an economic summit expected to be overshadowed by the prospect of U.S.-led military strikes against the Damascus regime.

Assad is ultimately responsible, even if it was carried out by some idiot acting on his own volition

His units should not be equipped with chemical munitions, period.

If they weren’t, there would be no confusion as to who was responsible

You only break out that stuff when the enemy is attacking your Capitol city and there is no other way to stop them.

How is Assad responsible for what the “rebels” are doing?!

This is not the questions that someone working FOR Assad did the attack.

And Russia has proof that “the rebels” used the chemical weapons. Isn’t it interesting that there is PROOF for that, there is NO proof that Assad did it and Obama wants to fight on the side of the “rebels”.

Not only did the “rebels” do it, they were supplied the weapons from the CIA in Benghazi.

These surgical strikes that he keeps promoting are designed to eliminate all the evidence that could hurt Hillary. Notice Bill is out promoting Obama again? He doesn’t do anything for Obama unless there is a trade off.

We have been supplying the Muslim Brotherhood (and by proxy Al Queda) for the past 5 years.

Now the evidence must be destroyed.
