On Friday, a man attending a town hall hosted by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in Prescott confronted the senator and told him he should be arrested and charged with treason for supporting al Qaeda in Syria.

"We the people want you to be representative of the people and for this great nation, but for far too long now on the rest of Congress, including the executive branch of government, along with the judicial and legislative have turned your back on the American people and their core values and principles. I can say with great confidence and speak on behalf of all Americans that your actions against this country are treasonous. All of you -- against the will of the American people -- have aided and abetted the enemy," said the town hall attendee.

Eh. I was a bit unimpressed. Elements of truth can be lost in an Alex Jones type monologue. He started with the free speech fallback position when unfavorable reactions occurred. Funny thing about free speech: You don't have the right to be heard and others have the right to boo or mock you.

McCain's 8x elected response was the equivalent of Obama's "I won" comment. Just as childish an irrelevant. All he's really doing there is admitting responsibility and complicity in the nation's decline over his career.

Expect the IRS to be on his front porch by noon today.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit. McCain uses every other progressive tactic in the book and I don't see why he would stop short of using the power of the state to punish his opposition.

That’s part of their right, too. The 1st Amendment doesn’t protect you from ridicule. You have the right to free speech, but nobody’s forced to listen.

The word "of" is missing in the transcript:

"You and the rest of Congress, including the president of the United States, have went [sic! Should have been: "gone"] against the will of your people in Syria regardless of your position and vote [...]"

Regards,

As well as the local property tax assessors, zoning board enforcers, and the children welfare workers.

If he owns a business it will be a small army of government alphabet agencies with one purpose in mind: Put him and his employees out of business.

And you thought you lived in a free country?

We’re slaves of the Federal apparatus, and have much to fear from them

We have to watch what we say, especially to or about our rulers in the political class

Reality sucks

If he gets a lot of heat from government agencies, he should hire a publicity firm, put out press releases describing the intimidation, give press conferences on the courthouse steps, and do everything he can to get this info out front and center. The FedGov counts on people to be intimidated, but if we aren’t and throw it right back at them, whatever they are trying to accomplish won’t work. We’ve got to think Alinsky.

Well, if you juxtapose the language from the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq, it gets interesting:

Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Syria;

Whereas the rebels in Syria continue to aid and harbor other international terrorist organizations, including organizations that threaten the lives and safety of United States citizens;

Whereas the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001, underscored the gravity of the threat posed by the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction by international terrorist organizations;

Whereas Syrian terrorists' demonstrated capability and willingness to use weapons of mass destruction, the risk that the current terrorists will either employ those weapons to launch a surprise attack against the United States or its Armed Forces or provide them to international terrorists who would do so, and the extreme magnitude of harm that would result to the United States and its citizens from such an attack, combine to justify action by the United States to defend itself against the Syrian rebels;

That’s what needs to happen, get in their face and don’t pull your punches, beat them about the head and shoulders with the truth, they do not rule over us, although they think they do.

Excellent I wholeheartedly approve!

He’ll get elected again!!!!!! Go figure!!!

Of course he will, and you know how it will happen? The GOP will put him up for election again, and all the conservative voters will say "Well, that Democrat guy would be worse, I'd better vote for McCain. McCain was the most electable, anyway. A vote for someone other than Romney...er...McCain is the same as voting for the Democrat."

If any of what the man said was not true, why didn’t McCain
shut him down with some facts.
