Libya's prime minister faced increasing calls for his ouster on Saturday as strikes by government employees at oil export terminals cost the North African country more than $5 billion in losses.
Bilqasim Shindeer el-Shibany, a board member of Libya's National Oil Corp., told The Associated Press that oil exports almost entirely have stopped. Late last month, officials said exports were around 300,000 barrels per day, down dramatically from pre-war levels in early 2011.
Adding to the government's woes, the capital, Tripoli, has been hit with water cuts for three days and electricity outages for the past few months that last around four hours daily.

Every place they interfere turns into another nightmare.
Remember early on in the Obama regime, Obama said his admin would never interfere in the affairs of other nations?
Now that was a red hot lie!
Didn’t she just get her rear handed to her trying to push Syrian intervention in the U.N.?
Libya was assumed to be a major political triumph for Obama because NATO helped push out Kaddafi with minimal loss of life. But after NATO washed its hands and walked away, the economy began to falter and is now in a tailspin. Moreover, the country is still riven by political and tribal factionalism and general social dysfunction.
So far she has but God knows what she’s promising to get their backing.
Assad is blocking the nat gas pipeline from Qatar to Western Europe. When he dies European gas profits flow to the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Queda instead of Russia.
Which I'm sure is not a consideration of the Russians, who sells billions in natural gas to Europe each year.
My vote is for Italy to lead the way
Once the army gets their brown pants, of course
I’m sure Italy will graciously let us use their bases to send our troops into Libya.
Of course it's a consideration of the Russians. That's why they stay in Iran and Syria.
The Russians did Georgia to secure the last pipeline they did not control. Russia has an axe to grind with Western Europe so they are not going to be particularly nice to deal with. WE is rapidly running out of oil and gas, they would rather start a war between the US and Russia than live on their knees, as long as they don't risk men, ships or money, just verbal "support".
No WE nation or coalition can take on Russia to take control of existing or proposed pipelines, let alone Saudi Arabia or Qatar, but the US CAN, all they need is to be suckered into it.
Yeah, fighting to take over a country seems so fun. You’ll just institute Sharia law and cover up/assault the ladies.
But now you get to feed 6.4 million people in a desert, Mookie. Or 82 million in Egypt. Have fun with that.
