Syria: Russia will stand by Assad over any US strikes, warns Putin
UK Telegraph ^ | Sept 06, 2013 | James Kirkup,

President Vladimir Putin gave warning that Russia would stand with Syria if America launches military strikes against the country.

Ending the summit, Mr Putin said that world opinion was firmly against US-led intervention, adding that Russia would take Syria's side. "Will we help Syria? We will," he said. "We are already helping, we send arms."

Are we about to start WW-3 with action against Syria?

Just think what will happen WHEN (NOT IF) Russia and Iran get involved, with Iran and Syria attacking Israel directly...

I BELIEVE HIM 101% —they’re serious.

Are we starting a war with Russia — we avoided war during communism, now we go to war to help a bunch of Islamic terrorists?! — see this other article:

Putin warns Russia could come to Syria’s aid over US strike

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/09/05/obama-to-engage-putin-on-syria-strike-at-g-20-summit/

“Putin escalated concerns about the fallout from any strike when he indicated in an interview published Wednesday that his country could send Syria and its neighbors in the region the components of a missile shield if the U.S. attacks.

U.S. Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, testified this week that the Russians might even replace any military assets the U.S. destroys in a strike.

The warnings raise the possibility of a supposedly “limited” strike on Syria turning into a proxy tit-for-tat between Russia and the U.S. “

Putin understands the real threat of radical Islamist terrorists — he is fighting them in Chechnia.

Which reminds me that Putin warned us several times about the Boston terrorist brothers and Obama did nothing.

Putin Vows Continued Aid to Assad.
Russian President Blames Syrian Rebels for Gas Attack

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323623304579058923844385820.html

“The Russian president also warned about the economic implications of further destabilization in the Middle East. “We know: When there are clashes or cataclysms, suddenly the price on energy commodities rises,” Mr. Putin said. “And what does that mean? That means that these prices hamper world economic growth.” “

...with Iran and Syria attacking Israel directly...

I wonder,... Iran hates Israel insanely, and Syria does somewhat. Russia has excellent relations with Israel, and has no interest in screwing that up.

If Russia could get Syria and Iran to leave Israel alone it would throw a huge monkey wrench into Zer0's strategy.

Probably impossible, but Egypt has moved to increase the peace with Israel since the Military took over...

Didn’t find a picture, but I found this article:

Russian Deputy Premier Calls West ‘Monkey With Hand Grenade’

http://en.rian.ru/russia/20130827/182995837.html

A firebrand Russian nationalist-turned-senior official said Tuesday that the West was acting in the Islamic world like a “monkey with a hand grenade.”

That's my point.

The Egyptian Military has known for a long time that peace with Israel is good (and profitable) for them and Egypt as a whole.

By kicking out the Muslim Brotherhood and increasing cooperation with Israeli security along Gaza, Sinai and the Med they show Israel they're safe from Egyptians, but not from Obama's MB.

If Egypt can do it so obviously, maybe Russia can get Iran and Syria to look and think tactically.

Putin Puts Obama in the Hot Seat

http://frontpagemag.com/2013/raymond-ibrahim/putin-puts-obama-in-the-hot-seat/

“Putin: There is another question: if it turns out that the armed rebels are the ones who used weapons of mass destruction, what will the United States do with the armed rebels? And what will it do with those sponsoring the rebels? Will they stop supplying them with arms? Will they start fighting against them?

Indeed. Considering that invading Syria is almost entirely being rationalized in the context of Assad violating the human rights of others, what will the U.S. — Obama, Kerry, McCain, et. al. — do if it turns out that the al-Qaeda led rebels are, in fact, the ones using such weapons, as significant evidence already indicates?”

Whether or not he is serious, the mere fact he feels comfortable saying this out in the open shows just how far our standing in the world has fallen during the Obama administration. We are no longer taken seriously as a force to be reckoned with.

I agree. But lobbing a few missiles at Syria is NOT going to restore our reputation.

Not only that, but the entire fiasco of how Obama has presented our supposed stand on the issue sure hasn’t either.

I also don’t understand what this is supposed to accomplish. What is the end goal of it? He’s supposed to stop using the chemical weapons (assuming he was in fact using them) and resume carpet bombing / machine gunning the same people like he has been for years now and that’s okay?

My personal opinion is that the real purpose of Obama is to distract from Benghazi, the IRS scandal of targeting conservative groups, unhappiness over Obamacare and so on. And he is certainly succeeding. I don’t think he cares what really happens regarding Syria — he will blame it on Congress either way it comes out and in the meantime nobody is talking about the other issues which ARE the real ones of concern to us, or should be, since they directly affect us.

It’s an out either way - if it is voted down he will blame Congress. if he goes forward with it and it is a disaster, he will say that it wasn’t just him, it was Congress as well. Same way he is now blaming “the world” for the red line.

I am so confused.

It seems like Obama has single-handedly brought more chaos to the Middle East. Country after country has fallen (tossed out their leaders). They call it the Arab Spring.

It seems like we are now supporting the terrorists.

It feels like Obama is picking a fight with Russia. Are we on the bring of WWIII?

I realize that perhaps WWIII started on September 11, 2001. Many countries have since been bombed and torn apart. We just keep marching closer and closer to Iran.

This time it all feels different. Russia is moving ships towards Syria. Now China has pushed some ships towards Syria.

Is this about Syria or is this about Iran? Is this about both?

It seems like a HUGE buildup for just Syria.

I don’t know but this all feels as if something very very bad is going to happen.

Am I crazy? What is the goal of Obama? Is he the enemy? Could he start the war we have all feared for decades?

Just not sure what to think. Definitely concerned.

It also seems like the government is trying to get us to prepare for a huge cyber-attack.

It all feels like some sort of set-up. Maybe I am crazy.

As long as Barry is not one of those getting killed, he does not give a damn. In fact, it makes him happy because those getting killed will be U.S. Service men and women. And Barry despises the American military.
