Booker made $689K from ex-law firm while mayor

Cory Booker pocketed $689,500 in payouts from his former law firm while he served as Newark’s mayor and the firm pulled down millions in government contracts, he revealed Friday.

Booker, the front-runner in the race for New Jersey’s US Senate seat, received the payments in annual allotments from 2007 to 2011. At the same time, the Trenk DiPasquale law firm held lucrative contracts with several local government agencies over which the mayor had influence — raking in more than $2 million in fees, records show.

When questioned last month by The Post, Booker refused to say how much money he received from the West Orange, NJ. firm, saying only it was a buyout of his equity in the firm, and that he had signed a “confidential settlement agreement.”

Lots of dirt coming out on Booker now. Wonder who is behind it? Up to now, I figured that Cory was this year’s “magic negro,” and would be swept into office by white guilt liberals, Holder’s people and brain dead union members. Maybe it’s not a done deal after all.

Frank Pallone and the Lautenberg mafia are behind it, that's who.

Booker is Norcross' candidate and Pallone is enraged.

Under current standards for liberals, sounds like Booker is a shoe-in for U.S. Senate.

Come on now! Everyone knows that most politicians come out of office far more wealthy than when they went in. Better yet, their money was made from “special” deals.

Take Obama: He has actually never held a job or worked for a living and look at his fortune today. It’s just amazing...go into politics and somehow a money tree springs up in your back yard and will bear fruit ($) for the rest of your life.

It’s AMAZING I tell ya.

I thought I read somewhere that the payments were distributions of his share of the sale of the company or its contracts rather than from income from operations Booker could have been influencing?

I thought Booker was the only interesting Democrat out there. He'd actually tell an uncomfortable truth (for Democrats) and that was the interesting part. Then he'd get whipped into line by the Democrat Machine. So, Booker ended up being worthless.

This campaign has exposed Booker has just another corrupt Democrat politician.

Remember when Newt lost his speakership over a $400k book deal? Engaging in commerce, as El Rushbo would say.

It must be tough to live in NJ and have to live under a series of venel & near-socialist politicians. Drudge has a link to “Poverty in N.J. reaches 52-year high, new report shows” so your politicians are driving the state into the ground. Good luck on turning things towards a better future.

It says right in the Post article, in the excerpt even, that it was a buyout of his equity in the firm.

Since people’s panties were in such a wad over his Internet business, he sold out and gave the money to charity.

They should please look at the whole picture of Cory’s contributions to Newark and not just the astro-dirt.

This guy is an even more talented liar than Barack Obama. It is just as important to sink him now as it was when Zero ran against Alan Keyes.
