Obama administration had restrictions on NSA reversed in 2011
The Washington Post ^ | Ellen Nakashima

The Obama administration secretly won permission from a surveillance court in 2011 to reverse restrictions on the National Security Agency’s use of intercepted phone calls and e-mails, permitting the agency to search deliberately for Americans’ communications in its massive databases, according to interviews with government officials and recently declassified material.

In addition, the court extended the length of time that the NSA is allowed to retain intercepted U.S. communications from five years to six years — and more under special circumstances, according to the documents, which include a recently released 2011 opinion by U.S. District Judge John D. Bates, then chief judge of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

The first 4 years of Obama, everything bad was blamed on GWB. The NSA spying has been blamed on GWB. The authors of the Patriot Act have said this overwhelming surveillance was not what the Patriot Act intended. But of course, those who wrote the Patriot Act are Republicans so they will ALWAYS be blamed for everything bad in most of the Media. Amazing the WaPo has told the truth. But the Obamabots STILL will not hold their Messssssiah accountable.

Outside of America, people understand.
Within the USA, the MSM delivers the KoolAid, nightly.

I am thinking there are a whole lot of Edward Snowdens (Leftists who are furious with their ‘perfect’ Pres..ent) in this country now. Just imagine all those people awakening to the realization that Big Brother is THEIR GUY! (not our guy) Must be pretty sickening to find out that THEY are really the evil ones, not the Republicans like they have always believed.

Wag the dog. Syria is a cover up for Benghazi. And Snowden is a cover up for what Obama did with the NSA and IRS to steal the 2012 election.

When you think about it, what Snowden did was no big deal. What Snowden reported has been public knowledge for about 40 years.

Big question here and the 600 pound gorilla in the room is, if we reference the NSA taps with people or groups who were audited by the IRS, what names will rise to the surface?

My bet is quite a few big donor Conservatives.

To be explicit about the obvious, it looks as if this was done to gather information to influence the 2012 election.

Weren't re-election prospects looking especially bad in 2011?

Likely. They cheated in so many ways, I am amazed he didn’t win in a landslide. Sad for us he has gotten away with it. Sadder for our once great country. Now we have to live with his failing Socialism for 3 1/2 more years.

We have a dictator and tyrant in the White House. Any Congressmen who don’t support impeachment need removal also.

Joel said that the change was intended to standardize retention periods across the agencies and that the more generous standard was “already in use” by another agency.

So which agency is that, Joel?

How bout this..........

Edward, from what I see, has “NO” money. How about starting a fund raiser for Snowden. I’m sure he could use the money.

While I’m at it, what good is NSA if they can’t figure out “WHO” gassed the Syrian people.
