PINE BLUFF (KATV - A stand-off on Saturday left one man dead. S.W.A.T. Officers shot and killed the suspect after a standoff at a Pine Bluff home.
Lt. David Price told channel 7 that when officers arrived at the home they learned that an aggravated assault had occurred against two people. The suspect, Monroe Isadore, who authorities say is 107-year-old old, pointed a weapon at them.
Authorities asked the two victims to leave the home and walked up to the bedroom door where Isadore was supposed to be. When officers identified themselves to the suspect he shot at them through the door but no officer was injured. Police then asked for backup. Police supervisors began negotiating with the suspect as soon as they arrived. Meanwhile, S.W.A.T. was also called out.

Why? Back off and wait him out, unless he mounts a frontal assault on their position. He’s 107 years old, he’ll nap out pretty quickly.

If it gets that bad they won’t last 30 days unless they hide. The homeys will get somr in the big cities and an aggravated citizenry will account for more in the countryside. They’ll have to call in help because all their armor and swagger and high-fiving isn’t going to help them.
It seems surprising that it was necessary to shoot a 107 year old man. Did he have a criminal history? I haven't been able to find any information that indicated this. Most likely he was having some type of medical problem that impaired his judgment. This does not appear to have been a situation with a violent criminal who was likely to begin roaming the neighborhood shooting people.
It is most likely that what we had was a group of incompetent small town police who used poor judgment and tactics. Fortunately the police that I work with strive to handle situations in a calm way that deescalates a crisis situation with as little violence as possible. I hate to be an arm chair quarterback, but twenty five years of experience tells me that the situation could have been handled in a way where no one would have been seriously injured or killed.

There are just too many police shootings these days. What kind of man can even shoot a 107 year old guy?
Somehow the avalanche that hit the MSM on the death of Trayvon Martin, does not seem to arrive. Perhaps I am wrong and Isadore was white.
As for someone shooting in your "general direction". You do realize that bullets come out of the end of the guns and can kill you? They don't care if the guy was point directly at you or in your "general direction". Go stand at the end of a rifle range than tell me what you think of that?
What lead up to a 107 guy to go off and start blasting away? All of you basement dwelling IA guy's have it figured out. Sounds like most of you must have been on the entry with the SWAT team?
Had a live feed of the action? Interviewed the parties involved? Anything?
Or are you just jumping to conclusions and making assumptions that you have no knowledge of? Bet you still think Zimmerman stalked Trayvon and gunned him down in cold-blood.

Calling in SWAT teams almost always leads to DEATH. Justified or not. DEATH. DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH....
The simple solution is to NOT call in the SWAT DEATH Squad! Or better yet disband and defund the SWAT DEATH SQUADS.

At 107 maybe he didnt have his hearing aid in or batteries dead couldnt hear what the hell a swat team is yelling. they should have waited and as they already had a camara in the room just sit back and wait for nap time then bust in a take him.
I also don't have all of the facts just like you and the rest of the lynch mob.
If it turns out that the SWAT team just finally said "F*ck it let's cap this turd so we can get back to the diner", than I'll be calling for them to be thrown into PoundMeInTheAss Prison.
But until than I'm not going to get upset about it. And it doesn't at this time seem that the people the old bastard assaulted are too upset he's dead either.

Because then you say "the SWAT DEATH SQUADS" you must not realize that LE stands for Police Officers. And SWAT teams are made up of Police Officers. Or are you trying to divide by zero?

Do police everywhere a favor and demand professionalism and in time good cops won't be drug down by the trigger happy thugs that play commando.
But they work for you. Get your A$$ and everyone else's A$$ down to City Hall and demand the Police to Police themselves. If they don't do it demand the City Council/Mayor/City Manager to do their job.
I was a LEO for close to 10 years. And the thing that pissed me off the most was bad Police Officers that should never have been issued a uniform. And yes we let our Brass know about.

We have our own awful set back for police public relations in Canada a few months ago. A hitherto quiet teen male got on a Toronto Street car and brandished a knife. He exposed himself as well. The street car operator did a great job. He halted his transport and got everyone off safely.
A police officer jumped on board. He screamed "drop the knife" then he pumped three shots into the youth. The youth hit the deck and then the officer pumped six more shots into him. Then he hit the youth with the taser.
The youth died. Only a public outcry brought about charges for the officer. We are waiting to hear his side of the story. Nobody wins here.
Excuse this ramble, but I went to my Ancestry.com and traced the records of Monroe Isadore. He was a human being.
My quotation marks were fouled up because we are sold a "bilingual keyboard". Hit the caps lock twice and that is what we get. (Sad smile).
