Kerry on Syria: 'Not the Time to Be Silent Spectators to Slaughter'
ABC (Yahoo News) ^ | Sep 7, 2013 | Dean Schabner

Secretary of State John Kerry and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius stood shoulder-to-shoulder today to say the two countries are united in their belief that Syrian President Bashir al-Assad must be punished for unleashing chemical weapons on his own people.

"This is our chance to join together and pursue accountability over appeasement. We in the United States know and our French partners know that this is not the time to be silent spectators to slaughter," Kerry said.

"What we are talking about is standing together and speaking with one voice in opposition to a clear violation of a red line the world has defended for nearly 100 years," he said.

'Not the Time to Be Silent Spectators to Slaughter'

They'll stand by and be silent as Christians are slaughtered but not muslimes?

Syria has been a very useful distraction for Hussein. Since he has been pushing for this war in Syria, there has been barely a mention of Benghazi, NSA, or his other scandals.

That’s going to happen anyway, Lurch. What you’re offering us is the opportunity to observe twice the slaughter.

The Syria war bs is put out there to distract us from the Amnesty bill that is coming up. It’s to get us thinking about syria while they pass the amnesty bill behind our backs So we don’t lobby our congressmen to not pass amnesty

call Congress . tell them no immigration related bill from the House as any could be merged with the Senate amnesty bill. Focus people

Focus on stopping the amnesty bill and call out crap like the syria crap.

99% of the media news stories are to distract us from what the government is doing or to advance the socialist/democrat agenda. it’s not news

Pretty sure we assisted Iraq in the use of chemical weapons against Iran, we certainly were silent as about 1 million Rwandans were killed, and I could go on.

What a blithering idiot.

rofl!!! Lurch is perfect. Thanks for the laugh.

And yes you are correct. Hezbollah outside of Syria is gearing up to support Assad and retaliate against us. They're not sitting around making speeches.

The Hezzi’s, the Syrian military personnel we kill, the additional rebel attacks that won’t be suppressed because we’ve weakened the government’s ability to respond. It all adds up.

Yesterday, I read a comment from some Obiedroid about how different this was from Iraq because there we didn’t have any clearly defined goals, and it got me to comparing the goal to stop Saddam from killing his own people, which we accomplished, the goal to remove Saddam from office, which we accomplished, the goal to stop Saddam’s paying bounties to the families of suicide bombers, which we accomplished, etc. Then I compared that to the stated goal here which is to... uh... do something or other that won’t actively stop the use of chemical weapons, won’t remove Assad from office, won’t hamper his ability to wage war, but’ll maybe show him that a community activist is miffed at him, and I thought, “oh yeah, this is a lot different from Iraq all right.

If this happens, it’ll make shooting a camel in the ass look like bold and effective action.

Neither was Benghazi, jerk.

‘Not the Time to Be Silent Spectators to Slaughter’

Where were these douchebags 2 years ago? Where were they in Darfur? Rwanda? Iran, when the Ayatollahs were gunning down their own people?

They reek of rank hypocrisy.

I’m beginning to think surrounding Israel with Islamist extremists, like Al Queerda and the Moose-Limb Brotherhood, is designed to end the state of Israel, either through concessions given to these savages, or all-out war.

That’s the only thing I can think is ultimately behind all this: Obama and the left hate Israel and want to see it gone, and are supporting Israel’s enemies for this very purpose: to see another Jewish holocaust.

Why this slaughter? Hasn’t Somalia and DR Congo among others featured slaughters these past 5 years? . The hypocrisy is incredible.

It has been scientifically established that people pick their party first, and then dream up rationalizations after.

I’ll never forget, from when Ray Shamie was running against Ted Kennedy, I heard about a guy who called into a radio show in Boston, and said: “There’s only one guy who will cut spending, and cut taxes, and get tough with the Russians—Ted Kennedy!”

Damned straight. I live near Chicago. How about some “surgical strikes” on the gang banger headquarters?

You know the ones, the ones Moochelle was involved with, the El Rukn’s and Jeff Fort?

What an asshat.
