Obama is my enemy. Putin, on the other hand, has done nothing to me.

Sad, but true.

You think Assad might tell Mad Vlad “nyet!”?? I don’t.

I would expect Putin got this all buttoned up before he opened his mouth - unlike the POSer in the WH.

......And hide them, since Syria DID NOT sign the chemical weapons ban.

They will give up some and hide some. It is a game, but in this case I don’t care. I am glad if we can avoid getting drawn any deeper into that mess.

Yes it is a good move.
I bet Assad jumps on it too.
They don’t need chemical weapons for the war they have; the reason for them was as an independent threat against Israel.
Since they are wholly owned by Iran at the moment they aren’t an independent force anyway.
They can afford to dump them for the duration of their current troubles. And they can get them back very quickly afterwards whenever the coast seems clear.

That is getting harder and harder for the American press though. Even CNN put out a poll that says most Americans are against an attack.

Perhaps Syria is receiving weapons more effective than chemical weapons: Russia sends warship with 'special cargo' toward Syria

It does allow Barry out of the box he put himself in...

His adoring fans in the media will claim his strategy worked and he can retain his Nobel Peaces Prize after all. O Happy Day.

Somehow I reckon some of those chem weapons have since scattered across the ME and into the clutches of various jihadi terror groups to be revealed later.

FReepers would be cheering Putin on over our own President

He's not my President. Doing everything to destroy My Republic, he is treasonous enemy, that somehow by hook and crook, got to occupy the WH.

“Putin puts Obama in check and has five more moves in mind.

This is painful to watch, but exactly what I expected.”

Considering the Obama Admin is working to overthrow Al-Assad and replace him with a West friendly, Iran foe, this is just a major fubar for them.

Now Putin has completely thrown it off.

What makes you think that "we" had anything at all to do with this? POSer got blindsided.

Just Damn ... that was the idea I’d been kicking around since the start when the State Dept equivocated on who the evidence showed made the attack. Now I kick myself for not posting it right away.

The gist of the idea was ... Obama makes a speech saying, “we have proof that chemical weapons were indiscriminately used in Syria against civilians, a crime against humanity. We have further proof that these were launched from Syrian controlled areas and have high confidence these were Assad’s weapons. Whether or not the orders were given by him, they were his weapons, the control of which is incumbent upon him. As a result of crossing this internationally-recognized red line, Assad has forfeited his right to possess such weapons of mass destruction.”

“Now, therefore I, Barack Obama, hereby call upon President Putin, who has a close relationship with the Syrians, to take custody of these weapons immediately and to work with the international community through the UN Security Council to remove them from the area of conflict and see to their destruction. We have the motion ready to bring to the Security Council.”

“If the weapons are not surrendered within a fortnight, the United States will commence a series of limited strikes upon the leadership of Syria until these WMDs are surrendered.”

Just imagine, Obama would have called Putin out BEFORE the G20 meeting and would have gained mucho leadership respect.

The way this gang has no clue as to what each department is doing, I wonder.

It’s a leaderless mess.

When the American press starts covering all the scandals, then the worm has turned.
