GOP Members Of Congress Hold Surreal Press Conference In Egypt Thanking Military For Overthrowing...
Business Insider ^ | Brett LoGiurato

Posted on 09/09/2013 4:22:49 PM PDT by sopwith

Republican representatives Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), and Steve King (R-Iowa) held a press conference last week in Egypt, praising and thanking the Egyptian military for a July 3 ouster of what Bachmann called the "common enemy" Muslim Brotherhood.

Via the Washington Post's Max Fisher comes video of the press conference, which is bizarre, to say the least.

Bachmann thanked the Egyptian military for the coup and the military-led government's crackdowns on protests, implying that the Muslim Brotherhood — of which former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was a member — was responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

"We were cheering in front of our televisions back home in the United States,” Bachmann said, referring to when the Egyptian military overthrew Morsi. "We were cheering for you."

For those who don’t know, the Egyptian military has been keeping the peace for decades.
Only someone with a political agenda would say otherwise.

implying that the Muslim Brotherhood — of which former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was a member — was responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

It's disgraceful that numbskulls like this reporter have any megaphone at all.

All three of Al Qaeda’s leaders, Osama bin Laden, Saif al-Adel and Ayman al-Zawahiri were members of the Muslim Brotherhood or one of its arms.

Al-Qaeda is a wholly owned franchise of the Muslim Brotherhood. They are the “shock troops”, much like the Waffen-SS was the direct supporting army of the National-Socialist German Workingmen’s Party (commonly abbreviated as “Nazi”).

The parallels are striking.

The Muslim Brotherhood spawned Al Quaida. The Blind Sheik came out of them, as did Osama Ben Ladin. All the effort to reestablish a Muslim empire across the middle east comes from their founding documents. So the author's bias, and lack of knowledge is on display with this article.

The Muslim Brotherhood wanted one vote in Egypt, all the time claiming that they would not field a presidential candidate (please correct me if I'm wrong on that point).During the process of that election, they intimidated and threatened many to not vote.

They then gained power, suspended the constitution, voted in a Sharia Law instrument, and started the process of establishing a radical Muslim state (including the killing of Coptic Christians), and ending the hope for a democratic process in the future.

This author's bias is really showing in this article. I find it really revealing that President Obama had us involved in promoting a false Arab spring across north Africa (really an effort to bring radical Muslims into power), and now wants the US to be Al Quaida’s air force in Syria. Isn't that what we were in Libya for the radical Muslims?

Assad has killed those who oppose him(fellow Muslims). A branch of the Muslim Brotherhood (Al Quaida) killed thousands of Americans on 9-11. Now Obama is pushing us to side with Al Quaida against Assad?

This action by our President is what's crazy, not our representatives thanking the Egyptian military for responding to the 23 million Egyptians who demonstrated against Morsi, and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Gee, uh, she’s dead on right.

The entire Free World (minus it’s putative leader, of course) were cheering when the Egyptian military dumped the 7th century troglodytes turning Egypt into an Islamist dictatorship.

If this is the kind of inside information BI puts out, read everything they say and do the exact opposite!

‘Business Insider’ is a Democrat propaganda organ designed to pretend it is competing with genuine business publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Investors Business Daily, etc.

Don’t take silly crap like Brett LoGiurato seriously. I never heard of him but I would bet he’s fresh off some Daily Collegian somewhere and aiming to someday write silly screed for Rolling Stone or The Nation or some other lefty laughingstock.

RUSH: Now, folks, one other thing here. Michele Bachmann... Louie Gohmert is one of the other Republicans. They wrote private letters to select individuals asking questions about the security clearance process, and they used Huma Weiner as an illustration. It was not Michele Bachmann who decided to go public with the letters. Now, isn’t this what congressmen on the Intelligence Committee ought to be asking if there are national security violations or problems involved in the security clearance with somebody with such close ties is to avowed enemies?

By the way, the new Egypt president, this Morsi guy, one of the first things he did upon being elected was demand the release of Omar Abdel-Rahman, the Blind Sheik! No doubt he wants to bring him home to honor him. It wasn’t Bachmann who went public with this. She’s doing her constitutional duties. She’s on the Intelligence Committee, along with Louie Gohmert and the others. It’s McCain that took this public. And now the Democrats are in Minnesota seeing if Bachmann is vulnerable because of what McCain has done.

The Revs. Jackson and Sharpton “give me the creeps,” Kennedy writes in a July 5 entry.

“Al Sharpton has done more damage to the black cause than [segregationist Alabama Gov.] George Wallace. He has suffocated the decent black leaders in New York,” he says. “His transparent venal blackmail and extortion schemes taint all black leadership.”
