WASHINGTON (AP) -- Coping with advanced cancer, Bev Veals was in the hospital for chemo this summer when she got a call that her health plan was shutting down. Then, the substitute insurance she was offered wanted her to pay up to $3,125, on top of premiums.
It sounds like one of those insurance horror stories President Barack Obama told to sell his health overhaul to Congress, but Veals wasn't in the clutches of a profit-driven company. Instead, she's covered by Obama's law one of about 100,000 people with serious medical issues in a financially troubled government program.
Raw political divisions over health care have clouded chances of a fix for the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan, leaving families like Veals and her husband Scott to juggle the consequences. That's not a good omen for solving other problems that could surface with "Obamacare."
"You don't advertise one thing and then give the customer another thing," said Veals, 49, who lives near Wilmington, N.C. "I finally felt for the first time going through this cancer that I had something dependable, and somebody pulled the plug."

... She considers herself a strong supporter of Obama's law.
... Veals and her husband say they are looking forward to full implementation of the health care law next year.
They just don't get it. Obama said if it gets too expensive, you're just going to get a pain pill. So you better get used to popping pills.
Bend over and drop your pants while Obama and Pelosi shove this disaster up your butts.
The list, Ping

Sadly, I think a LOT of us are going to be in this exact same position; I’m saving a bottle of Jameson and one special bullet for myself. *SHRUG*
How I absolutely LOATHE these socialist scumbag f*c&ers, including every RINO in Congress. Worst. Congress. Ever. Worst. pResident. Ever.
How can people be so naive?
I see a lot of people losing their seats in Congress and most of them are Dems. Too bad the Repubs are too stoopid (yeah!) to even try to take advantage of this and those Dems will probably be replaced by other Dems.
It’s all part of the plan for the final solution to the medical cost overrun problem. Soon she will be too old to rate expensive care and will become a “life unworthy of life.” The savings on her care can be used to provide treatment for younger people, AIDS patients and heroin addicts.
Don't waste the bullet on yourself. Put it to good use.
Pay careful attention to the language. She MAY be able to find lower cost plans. Then again, she MAY NOT.
The idiots who thought they were going to get the very best of care on the cheap are in for a rude awakening. But they may, like this lady, still support the "idea" of Obamacare even in the face of its utter failure in practice. And people will die.
That said, I wish this lady the best in beating the Big C.
WE TOLD YOU SO! you did not listen, you did not read. $7 TRILLION gut of Medicare alone, seniors face death panels as they will receive the least care, already signs up in doc’s offices NO NEW MEDICARE PATIENTS. Since I see 3 it’s in all 3 offices. Like to never have found a GYN, well past need for the OB part, and they only want to treat the OB part now a days any way, more money in it.
