The Syrian government agrees to Russia’s proposal to hand its chemical arsenal over to international control in a bid to avert a possible strike by the US-led coalition, Interfax reported citing the Syrian Foreign Minister.

“Yesterday [Monday] we held a round of very fruitful negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and he put forward an initiative regarding chemical weapons. Already in the evening we accepted Russia’s initiative,” Walid Muallem said.

He stressed that the agreement is designed to “pull the rug from under the feet of American aggression.”

France to propose U.N. resolution on Syria chemical weapons

(Reuters) - France is to put forward a U.N. Security Council draft resolution for Syria to give up its chemical weapons, quickly turning a Russian idea into a full-blown diplomatic proposal that could avert Western military strikes.

The French draft would threaten “extremely serious” consequences if Syria violates the conditions for giving up its chemical weapons, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on Tuesday.

What happens when the Syrian WMD are determined
to not match the rebels WMD (which may have come from Obama)?

Good.

Gonna be nauseating or maybe amusing, to watch MSM give, and BO himself take, all the credit.

He’ll be shoving Hillary out of the way to get pinned by Jeb

Obama will take full credit for this, he will say his hardline red line approach, scared the Russians into adapting the solution, he sent Kerry out to promote.

The chemical weapons are a bargaining chip for Assad. What does he need them for, if no longer as a potential threat against his enemies, whether used or not? He has Russia as well as Iran as protectors now for the continuation of his regime in power. Playing this chip now suits his interests.

However it plays out in fact, Obama’s regime is enjoined from using cruise missles and bombs against Assad interests as long as the chemical weapons deal acts as the slightest fig leaf to cover his regime.

A concern I have is that these loose-mouthed cannons here will try some other ruse to involve us against Assad and on the rebels’ side. And yes that includes McCain, Grahamnesty and other RINOS along with this regime.

Assad is the lesser of evils.

But some can’t accept that, for reasons of their own that are driving them. Investigative journalists, back in the day when they existed, would have loved to rip back the curtain covering the motivations of those in high office here, who are behind the shenanigans.

I just looked at Sky news. This could end up another mess for Obama. The FSA, ehem, is ticked off and vowing to help “beef up” the jihadi’s in a push to Damascus. They were counting on this military strike.

Now we can see the possible upcoming danger. And 9/11 is tomorrow.

I bet his speech writers were up all night trying to figure out a way to make the community organizer look good. I am ready for the lies to come fast and furious. Obama is a snake and a professional liar. He will find a way to take credit for this.

The Saudis know he lost.

As does the biggest part of the rest of the world, and, from the actions of US Senators and Congressmen, we know who is taking Saudi "campaign contributions", and can organize accordingly.

Meanwhile, Russia can begin to punish Europe over petro energy, and the Saudis for their terrorist threats, and China will pick off islands and oil wells.

If Assad had any brains he’d have Russian AND Brit FM officials camping with him and his MOD so if the “rebels” hit Israel or launch another CW weapon in Syria there are witnesses to the rogues

The US French and Saudis are not to be trusted

susan rice is not an ambassador anymore, she is THE national security advisor

a real impo’tant job she got from barry hisself since her Ben.Ghazi lies would have blocked her nomination as Secretary of State
