A father has been arrested after beating a naked prowler he found peering into his daughter's window

An Albuquerque, New Mexico dad who found a naked prowler peering into his young daughter's room will face charges after seriously beating the peeping tom.

Police say Emilio Chavez III found 29-year-old Dylan Maho naked and making noises near a little girl's window when he chose to exact vigilante justice and beat Maho so badly he was taken to the hospital.

While both men could be convicted of felonies, Chavez could potentially get a longer sentence for what he did to the intruder.

'There's a naked man outside his daughter's window,' Chavez's neighbor Bill Morang told KOAT. 'I think he was well within his rights chasing him down and beating him.'

But the district attorney disagrees. Though police initially let the irate father go free after questioning, he is now charged with aggrevated battery, a felony.

I would never have charged him based on what I read . . . but there is often more. Still.

Well, unless he is the DA proper and not an assistant . . . no recall available.

12 idiots too stupid or too bored to avoid jury duty will probably fall for the judges instructions that they are only to consider the law. In fact, the jury is free to make any decision they like irrespective of the law.

The Peter Zenger case is a great example of why the Jury is superior to the judge in matters of the law. A judge can over-rule a conviction but not an acquittal. At least not yet.

Naked man outside my daughters window?

Nah. I wouldn't have done this beat down.

I would, instead, have quietly slipped into my daughters room with a laser-equipped glock. Hiding in the shadows, I would have waited for the man to make entry. Upon entry, I would have emptied the magazine into the perp.

Problem solved.

“Californication.”

Dang, should have known it...

Those lame west-coasters soil everything they stay move to. I thought is was just confined to Taos and Santa Fe, but I guess not.

Guess I won’t be thinking about retiring back to the old home-state anymore...

I remember a post by some Freper who stated that he interrupted a burglary at a home across the street. While detaining said burglar with a shotgun home owner came home. The home owner was a well dressed older Italian business man who was being driven by his assistant.

The police hadn't been called yet but the homeowner whose house was being broken into said there was no need to do that for he and his assistant would immediately drive the law breaker to the police and turn him in. They left with the burglar.

Everything went back to normal and when the neighbor who caught the burglar made an inquiry with the police several days later whether anyone was arrested that night for burglary the police had no record of any arrest.

Coincidentally the rash of burglaries and break-ins stopped.

No, call Walt. He can tell you where not to bury the booger because he has planted sooooo many around the ABQ area.

“The naked dead body and its proximity is all the cops need to let you off.”

If I read correctly, the cops did let him off. It was the DA who pressed the issue. It was the same in the Zimmerman case. We should remember that when we read stories about the bad cops.

Drop the charges against Chavez, or we will recall you...

You are exactly right. Excellent solution!

“Come to Idaho and help prevent its Californication, too!”

I have actually thought about going up north, but my wife says that it is too cold for her. Maybe a few more years of record-breaking heat and drought here in Oklahoma will change her mind...

DA is Kari Brandenburg

Sounds like a white Hispanic is not safe from people like her.

After saying softly, “Now sweetheart, hide behind Daddy and put your hands over your ears, just like we practiced.”

I can’t help, but think of the scene in the movie ‘Broken Trail’ in which Tom shoots off a rapist thumbs. I almost stood up and cheered the first time I saw that seen! A beating was to good for the guy!!!
