They should give one island to the Chinese and put military stuff on the others. Before long, there would be a Chinese restaurant on that other island where they could go to get take-out prior to a mission.

The Qing signed away the islands in 1895 and the Treaty of San Francisco did nothing to change that, they were even administered by the US like many other Japanese islands. China didn’t even care about them until someone discovered there might be oil in the area.

China's navy is doubling in size every 5 years thanks to all the Chinese made iPhones we buy.Japan may send people to live on these islands but the moment China becomes convinced that there are major oil fields in the area those people will be removed...or killed.

Count on it.

I just bought a DVD collection of ALL the Gilligan’s Island seasons!

The first DVD had an unreleased version of the original pilot episode.

They had Gilligan and Skipper, of course, and the Howells, but the Professor was a much younger man AND his wife! And a ‘secretary’ instead of Ginger and Mary Ann................

Great stuff - in that pre-Netflix pre-YouTube world if you missed the first episode you were sunk (no pun intended).

We just stumbled on re-runs being available! It’s great to be able to watch a show on TV and be entertained without having to worry about the content being in any way unsuitable.
