GOP rep expects October immigration reform vote

Republican Congressman Bob Goodlatte, chair of the House Judiciary Committee overseeing immigration, said he expected Congress to pursue reform legislation despite a tight schedule featuring debates over Syria, health care, and the debt limit. Those and other issues “should not deter us from getting to [immigration] as soon as possible,” Goodlatte said in an appearance on WAMU’s Kojo Nnamdi Show on Tuesday. Goodlatte said he expected votes soon, perhaps in October, on a series of smaller House bills on border security, internal enforcement, guest workers, and high-tech visas.

Obama’s interest in invading non-enemy Syria has nothing to do with Syria, poison gas, or children.

Obama’s interest in bombing non-enemy Syria has everything to do with creating a long-lasting, controversial, DISTRACTION for Congress in order to keep Congress from defunding Obama”care”/Boehnerkare.

Obama’s “Red Herring” for the 9-11 Benghazi Massacre Coverup was Susan Rice’s fake Video story.

Obama’s “Red Herring” for distracting Congress until Obama”care”/ Boehnerkare kicks in October 1 is Obama’s “Crossing HIS personal Red Line” distraction speech.

Obama speaks only for Obama, not the US Federal Government or America.

REMEMBER BENGHAZI !

“Jellyfish Spine” Boehner as Speaker of the House is essential to Obama’s continued unchallenged destruction of the US Constitution.

Nothing will change as long as cave-in artists Boehner and Cantor are in leadership roles in the US House of Representatives.

If Boehner is replaced as Speaker with a fighter such as Col. Allen West, then the Articles of Impeachment for B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, can be quickly issued.

The problem is not with Obama, as he is just doing what Communist Tyrants are trained to do.

The problem is not with Boehner, as he loves to lose and wallow in the disgrace of being the worst Speaker of the House, EVER.

The problem lies with our sorry, spineless, RINOs in the House who refuse to replace Boehner with a proven fighter.

BTW, the members of the House can choose anybody to be their Speaker, even if that person is not a current Member of the House.

Tick-tock, long-time House RINOs, tick-tock - - - - .

The GOOBs should pass it in December so Barack the Kenyan can sign it on Christmas Eve as a Christmas present to the American taxpayers.

Yeah. I'm being sarcastic.

And by ‘Guest Worker Program’ they are really talking about permanent workers. If the House Guest Worker plan is like the Senate one, or pretty much any other put forth in recent memory, allows the ‘guests’ to bring family with them and apply for permanent residency and citizenship.

So these ‘guest worker programs’ are really disguised ways to increase permanent legal immigration. A true guest worker program would not allow guests to bring family and would require that they eventually go home.

The cave-in artists, as you so accurately call them, have huge support from House colleagues and Republican primary voters too, many forever uninformed.

Most taxpayers are so uninformed that they will never know what struck them.

we have to call Congress and tell them no immigration related bill must come from the House as it will be merged with the Senate amnesty bill.

So we can get more NSA spying, more destruction of the Bill of Rights, and more debt? No thanks. There’s a reason his Tea Party base tossed him out after one term - he talks one way and votes the other.

You have a right to your own opinion but NOT your own facts. REDISTRICTING by the democrats and the GOP Establishment (NOT the Tea Party) had everything to do with forcing Allen West out of his own district which resulted in his defeat.

I didn’t invent it out of thin air.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/174289-tea-party-groups-targeting-four-defectors

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/29/allen-west-tea-party-schizophrenia-debt_n_913283.html

Redistricting is a secondary issue when he’d already lost too much of his base to win even without that problem.

Is it really difficult to believe that Tea Party voters considered voting for more federal debt a betrayal? This is a core issue.

Goodlatte seems to have the right enemies:

But, this past week, Goodlatte reverted to his old ways.  He made it clear he opposes a path to citizenship for the vast majority of undocumented immigrants, including for DREAMers.  He signaled his intention to get to “no” on reform, expressing a desire to pretend to want a substantive fix more than actually wanting it.  And he continues to champion the hardline SAFE Act: Draconian, Arizona-like legislation that, in the words of the New York Times, would turn millions of undocumented immigrants “into criminals overnight.”

Then, yesterday, he took another two giant steps backwards.

First, he decided to be a shill for Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) regarding the trumped up “asylum abuse at the border” story.  As Roll Call reports, Rep. Goodlatte plans hearings – and presumably legislation – regarding the right-wing trope that Mexicans are falsely claiming asylum in order “to game the system by getting a free pass into the U.S. and a court date that they do not plan to show up for.”  It doesn’t seem to matter that the claim does not hold up under scrutiny.  As Ted Hesson of ABC News noted in a fact check piece, there are “plenty of reasons to be skeptical of this report…”  But, hey, if Sessions wants to make it a big deal in hopes of derailing reform, who’s his go-to guy in the House?  Goodlatte.

Then we learned that Rep. Goodlatte declined an invitation from one of the leading champions of reform, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), to hold a joint bipartisan town hall on immigration in Goodlatte’s district.  Rep. Gutierrez has been bending over backwards to make friends with gettable Republicans.  He held a similar event with Rep. David Valladao (R-CA) and it was a huge success for Valladao.  But, then, Valladao supports immigration reform with a path to citizenship and wants reform to pass this year.

Cut it Loose like last time only worse. NO DAMNED MERCY. find a weakling in another district. Google the district cities. Then email the weakling . Give an address in that city in his district like # 12 Ben Hogan with a zip code you find on google. Tell that wobbler you are one of his fund raisers and then give him scorched earth. It is one every day until they vote. Your email will get to his desk. God Bless AMERICA.

The cave-in artists

Cave-in, my ass. The Republicans are fully complicit. They have been bought by the Saudis, and the few who haven't, have been NSA'd.
