SHOT ACROSS THE BOW: Second Amendment Wins: CO Senate Majority Leader RECALLED *UPDATED
Gateway Pundit ^ | September 10, 2013 | Dana Loesch

Colorado Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse concedes.

Colorado Democrats need a new senate leader. History was made tonight in Colorado as Democrat Senate Majority Leader John Morse was recalled for abridging Coloradans’s Second Amendment civil liberties. The tally is currently 52%-48%. According to Kelly Maher of Revealing Politics, Morse supporters need to “beat us two to one in remaining ballots.” Impossible.

It’s the first wave of legislative battles planned by citizens angry at state lawmakers who denied them a vote on their Second Amendment rights. As it stands now State Senator Angela Giron is narrowly ahead of her recall.

Morse conceded around 11:30 eastern time.

I’ve said this repeatedly: Colorado is ground zero for our gun rights. It is the litmus test for the country.

“Here’s the bottom line,” said Kurt Bardella, president and CEO of Endeavor Strategic Communications, which is consulting with the groups seeking to oust Morse and Giron. “What happens in one week will have significant implications for the overall debate on gun-control. … Lawmakers at every level of government see Colorado as a bellwether as to whether they can risk pursuing a more aggressive gun-control agenda.”

Maybe Morse can get a job with Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun group. Colorado seems to be shifting from blue to purple.

Will develop with Giron results.

*UPDATE 1: Giron’s lead has flipped to a trail. 57%-43%

I dislike Windflier, but your comment is misplaced. He is not talking about Boehner (GOPe-OH). He is talking about Joe Straus (”R” but really Dem Lite), Speaker of the House for the state government of Texas.

THE issue for 2014 just might be Second Amendment preservation.

I have a lot of gut feels about politics and my ones for 2012 were all wrong, but IMHO I agree and go one step further it IS the issue in 2014, Obama will be totally unfeathered if he gets the House and will pass Draconian Gun Control Legislation. It is the metaphorical last stand for the 2nd admendment, and quite frankly Boehner and McConnell are no longer up for the job of saving or growing their respective bodies. We will have to drag their sorry @$$es across the line one more time like we did in 2010, and that makes me want to scream...

I think the GOP did target a couple of more district, but failed to get enough signatures to get the recalls on the ballot.

Huge wins. Much has been said about Giron’s Pueblo-based SD being so Democrat, but it also has a lot of pro-gun Democrats. And I believe that Morse’s Colorado Springs SD was only slightly GOP-leaning when Morse was elected in 2006 and 2010, and it had more urban Democrats; it may have been made more Democrat in 2011 redistricting, but I’m not sure which district lines were used (in WI recalls they used the lines for the recalled senators’ prior election, but I don’t know how CO does it).

In an honest election, Morse would have lost 75% to 25%. As it was, he nearly won. The reason being the college kids committing voter fraud by the backpacks full .

Someone should be going through the dorms at Colorado College as I type this with a 1,000 feet of rope cut into 7 ft lengths and stringing the bastards up.

It’s got me shaken up.

6 months following the defeat of Ken Buck for US Senate ( he lost by about a 1,000 votes)The CO SOS issued a report showing 5,000 illegals voted in that election in that district. No arrests, prosecutions, or warnings were issued. Business as usual.

Had this been a mail in ballot election, yesterday would have be 180 degrees different.

Yesterday was the last non-mail-in-ballot in CO.

I doubt this will ever happen again in my lifetime.

This tells me not ALL Dems are gun grabbers.

RKBA is about the ONLY remotely bi-patisan issue in this country. All other agreement between conservatives and reprobates is as wide as the Grand Canyon.

On the other hand, the vote in Colorado Springs is too close for comfort; 343 votes should have been 2000.

I don't think that even most conservatives understand how massive and corrupt Dem voter fraud is in this country - the magnitude is unprecedented in this day. Morse likely did lose by 2,000+ votes, but, in the victory, the election won't be investigated.

Every swing state "went" for Obama last year. Don't tell me that was a true election, especially considering the multitude of irregularities documented. Don't expect active duty deployed military to ever vote again.

“Colorado Democrats need a new senate leader.”...

Change that to read “U.S. Senate needs a new conservative (Republican?)leader”.

Not necessarily. I think privacy rights fall into the same category. For whatever reason, liberals don’t like it when the government spies on them. It’s a shame that cognitive dissonance prevents that sentiment from spreading to other areas of their lives, but it’s good to know that we aren’t alone in detesting the NSA.

Leftists, as usual, are selective with privacy rights; they LOVE it when those of conservatives are violated. So, no, there is no agreement with conservatives on this issue.

How about if we take that steam and apply it to Benghazi?

I’m hoping the bikers in DC make it WELL known that Americans are livid over the games that whole city is playing rather than reaching answers about the deaths of the Benghazi 4. They deserve better than that. The whistleblowers deserve protection. The witnesses deserve to be heard. And those who obstruct.... well, we all know what they deserve. And hopefully they will know soon too.

Morse will get a 6-figure no-show job at some proggy think tank to reward him for his loyalty to the cause.

Looks like former senator Morse’s clip just wasn’t quite big enough.

I think it would probably take a Constitutional amendment first...

But it’s what we need. Clearly the political leadership is poo-poohing the importance of their responsibility to check and balance. We have to have a way to go around them, or there won’t be any accountability and there WILL continue to be absolute corruption.

How does the Constitutional amendment process get started?

Senate President Morse (D) Colorado Springs is unemployed. So is Senator Angela Giron (D) Pueblo. It was a twofer. Bloomberg outspent us 7 to 1 and lost. As Obozo said “We won. Get over it”. Hehehe.
