Skip to comments.LT. Governor Ron Ramsey stands by Sept. 11 tweet
Posted on 09/12/2013 9:06:50 AM PDT by don-o
Thursday, Tennessee Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey is standing by his September 11th tweet that has drawn criticism from other lawmakers, including Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Roy Herron.
Here is what Ramsey tweeted on September 11th: "As the president attempts to ally with Al-Qaeda in Syria's civil war, we must always remember who attacked us on our soil 12 years ago."
This is what Ramsey said Thursday about that controversial tweet: "Every September 11 since that tragic Tuesday in 2001 has been a day of remembrance. We remember those who died, those who served and those who carry on. But we must also remember those who attacked us and why. The Syrian rebels connections to Al-Qaeda are well-established and well-known. I am proud to stand with leaders like Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Rand Paul against coming to the aid of our enemies, enemies who continue to hate our country from afar as they kill Christians in their own country."
Confidential to Ron Ramsey, I am pressing the “like button” like crazy!
He must not waiver.
If he equivocates just a tiny bit, the sharks will smell blood in the water and he will be undone by BOTH sides.
Couldn’t have said it better.
Hope he doesn’t cave to the liberal media pressure
While it is refreshing to see, I suspect the NSA is working on that.
It will be a win for him if he sticks to his guns.
It is when spineless ‘Pubbies start apologizing that they get gutted; Democrats and the Media - they can smell fear and wishy-washyness.
Finally, a poli with some guts.
Don’t back down! Don’t apologize for telling the truth!
And i am pressing the like button on your post!
Ramsey is the first Republican governor ever in the state of Tennessee
That is a righteous tweet
Knox News Sentinel just took their UT football news to a pay portal. Be interesting to see how THAT plays out. The university itself has really ramped up its own media package available to fans and most “sports journalism” is simply opinion pieces.
Damn...a republican who is not afraid of telling the truth....what’ll they think of next!!!!!
The sports loudmouth know-it-alls have just moved from the neighborhood bar into the "newsroom". In the case of ESPN, we are stuck with Connecticut know-it-alls who know little and care less about "fly-over-country".
(apologies to all you decent people in CT.)

Back on topic: I posted Ron’s contact info. Let him feel some love.
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”-George Orwell
I have experienced a great deal of this lately in my own life and was vexed and perplexed at first to observe people’s reactions when i spoke the truth.
It troubled me immensely until i read what the Bible has to say on the subject:
1 John 1:8
If we say that we have no sin, we are
deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not
Undoubtedly, there are many more examples referencing light vs dark and how evil depends on and thrives in darkness but i choose that verse for brevity.
I also really liked what Churchill had to say as well. Though not as important as the good book, the man was a master with words and a profound orator:
The truth is incontrovertible.
Malice may attack it, ignorance
may deride it, but in the end,
there it is.
Should Ron Ramsey back off, it will be a real shame. Far too many people sprint from the TRUTH like Usain Bolt leaving the starting block and we live in times where half of our fellow “citizens” prefer to hide in Satans evil shadow.
Spot on. It would be awesome if FReepers used the contact info in post 19 to encourage him to stand strong.
One of my favorite quotes as well and i use it often. I almost referenced it myself in the post that followed yours. Godspeed.
Thanks for pointing that post out, i missed it while writing. I will Definitely be reaching out to the Lt. Governor to voice my support and urge him to stay strong and find comfort in being one who does not turn back towards the darkness in favor of the light of truth.
They made all the on-line news pay portal. They were getting a lot of hits due to readers linking to them and using the comments section. Some comments were in the 400-500 range. Now they're down to usually 1-3 comments. KNS backs Alexander and Corker in their Obama enabling as well. You can look for them to get behind Alexander in the Primaries unless the DEMs actually run strong opposition which I don't think will happen.
I'm not paying money for on-line or home delivery subscription of a news paper that is as liberal biased as they have become under current management. I think they left the Obits still free that's about it.
I hope Ramsey doesn't back down because the newspapers in Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis will likely go after him on this.
I bet their readership online has totally collapsed.
how sad. lol
Wow.. Another Republican who doesn’t back down from the rats and their newsrooms; another Republican who is not a coward.
The Editior has strong ties to the Denver area. That explains a lot doesn't it? LOL East Tennessee isn't Liberal Denver. East Tennessee is the Strong Conservative third of the state.
The time for the rags to bite the dust is coming quickly.
I think a real conservative national paper could have 10 million subscribers, but it won’t ever be created of course. The system won’t even allow a conservative TV channel even thought we get Chinese commie TV and Muslim channels.
Back in the late 1990âs Paul Weyrich had a Conservative TV Network up and running called National Empowerment Television or NET. This was about the time Trent Lott was SML. Weyrich went after him and others in both parties hot and heavy LOL. The RINO’s gained programing control and changed the name to America’s Voice before it was finally shut down. Ironically Bob Beckel was one of the persons on America’s Voice. Look where he is now. Fox News.
