I wish all the mamas with babies out there would just stay home with them until they are ready for school.

That's exactly what my daughter is doing with her kids. Her husband wants her to be an at-home mom. It works out well.

“Well this is what happens when one salary can’t support a family and the Mother goes out to find another source of income. Don’t give me the working mother crap either. Your kid is a full time job, being a mom is a full time job.if you can’t raise them don’t have them.”

Agreed. If possible the mother should stay home and raise her child, not entrust it to some minimim wage worker. My wife has worked with women over the years showing them how to cut back expenses to live on 1 paycheck. Very often it is not hard to do. Then again lots of women think they are looked down upon if they are not working.

Amen. I have hidden cameras in my store (more for liability than theft prevention), but a neighboring store has about 20 cameras throughout, and the monitor is right there where the people walk in so they know they’re being recorded. He’s never indicated that shoplifting was an issue...

Good puppy!

All of my kids were raised with possessive and protective Boxers. Such a babysitter would have been eaten alive.

I have never understood why people have kids .... and then give them to someone else to raise. My brother and his wife, when they had kids, went through financial hardship so she could stay home with them. His comment to me was: I married my wife because I love HER, her personality, her values, her faith ... everything about HER. I want my kids to be like HER, not some strange woman (babysitter, etc.) I don’t know. All 4 kids turned out to be wonderful young adults .... and very much like their mom.

Your argument implies that unemployed men are unemployed because private companies find the women to be more competent in those positions.

Instead of removing the already competent, increasing competence appears to be the answer here.

Freegards,

Good doggie. Who is a good doggie? You’re a good doggie. Who wants steak? Who wants steak? You do? That’s a good doggie! Yes, the good doggie gets steak.

Actually, catch, because then the bastard can’t get away with it anymore. 1 less criminal harming people. Preventing actually is good, of course, but if the evil intent is there, it will come out somewhere, probably multiple times. Good to stop the scum altogether.

Dogs tend to be excellent judges of character; they have a knack for “smelling” mentally/emotionally unbalanced people.

More people should trust their dogs when they warn their masters of danger.

It’s amazing what incredible abilities The Lord has given our canine companions.

Same thing works on school buses. School purchased camera boxes for all buses but only filled two at a time with working cameras After a few parents were confronted with their child’s behavior the drivers had few problems. Consistant rules for all buses were also put in place. Not just for students but also for drivers. Couple of drivers chose to retire early. Win Win for all at the cost of two cameras

Our doggie is getting old. It’s so sad the other day to see him fall down. But ceramic tile is really slippery (whole house, it’s SFL). It’s like ice to him.

When younger, it was funny to see him peel-out or swing out around a corner though.

Dreading the day.......

That’s a good way to manage it. Children need time with both their parents to become healthy adults. :)

Many glib statements are made here. It’s so easy to criticize from your office chair.

As usual with all bad things, the main source of this 2-parent-working situation is income tax. Not somehow wanting more women than men to work (as your reply correctly identified as a virtual non-sequitur).

As to the glib statement “don’t have kids” - sometimes it just happens. Do they suggest abortion then? Or why should they have to give up the child to adoption, for that matter? Or maybe just don’t have sex, married people. The 1 time it’s legitimate, but if you “can’t handle” it, don’t do anything that might result in a baby.

It’s all a bit too much.

As for this family, I actually don’t know the situation. Maybe they are welfare royalty playing around leaving the kid behind. In which case, indeed, they are very irresponsible.

I’d agree that income tax is one of the responsible culprits.
