Atlanta, GA Record cold for third straight day
Ice Age Now.info ^ | 13SEP2013 | Sonia Moghe

Posted on 09/13/2013 8:17:16 PM PDT by Jack Hydrazine

For the third straight day, high temperatures in Atlanta are breaking records for how low they are.

Saturday’s high was 66 degrees as against the normal high in the upper 80s.

The temperatures put a chill over, “It’s kind of a freak of nature that it’s even cold – it’s August and we’re wearing jeans and coats, and it’s very weird,” said Regan Koski, event manager for Decatur’s Blues, Barbecue and Bluegrass Festival.

“I’m from Atlanta, and I still can’t believe this weather. It’s crazy,” Wynn said. “I would expect this in November. Not in August. Not in Atlanta.”

Thursday had the coldest high temperature on record since 1908, when the high was only 77 degrees.

Algore and crew have got to be developing their new explanation for how man-made global warming is actually causing mandmade global cooling, and how we now need to cut our burning of fossil fuels because everyone just knows that it will drive us into the next ice age in the next 10 years. Only “deniers” will stupidly believe differently. (s)

They already have.

It’s embodied in the AGW slogan I made up...

“Warm globally, cool locally!”

based on the collectivist slogan “Think globally, act locally.”

People have posted articles here on FR where the climate nuts say that cooling is caused by AGW.

Cool this morning but up to 79 expected today. Very nice so far this morning. It has been a cool very wet summer for us though as compared to the normal temps.

8 months out of the year is heaven.

4 months out of the year is hell.

3/4 of the time heaven, I will take it.

Beats being overtaxed and disarmed 100% of the time in the Northeast.

Half of my neighbors are recent transplants from California. I know that many Texans worry about that, but here they are all good conservatives.

In Austin, that would different. If you are a liberal, you are likely going there.

When we first moved to Texas, at least six of our new neighbors rang the doorbell to welcome us to the neighborhood. Having just arrived from California (where such behavior is rare), my wife and I were sort of stunned. We had no idea we'd run into that sort of overt hospitality.

Some time later, it dawned on me that the patriotic stickers on my truck might have had something to do with it.

Yes, there are a ton of conservative refugees moving here.

I am originally from NY. However, my family moved around a lot living all over the US, especially the South, even in Texas for a time. When I got out of the military, I decided to remain in Texas, one of the best decisions that I ever made.

Like you, I moved around a lot as a kid (military family). After leaving home, I continued to live out of a suitcase until my early forties.

It was after my wife and I had four kids, that I looked around and realized that we were living in a state that was swirling down the drain. I thought about what that meant for my kids' futures. Within a year, we'd packed up everything and moved to Texas.

I knew we were making the right choice when we relocated, but it took me three or four years to understand just what an exceptionally wise choice we'd made. Over time I find myself appreciating that decision more and more.
