A move by Quebec’s ruling Parti Québécois to ban public workers in the province from wearing ostentatious symbols has drawn fire from other Canadian leaders, and even created an internal division within the group.

The so-called “Charter of Quebec Values” forbids state employees from wearing large Christian crosses, Jewish skullcaps or Muslim headscarves to work. …

Inasmuch as Quebec is a result of non-secular division— is this not utterly ludicrous? Now they are in place as a govt. they now need to enforce Statism by the new socialista.
Hilarious. They were not Huguenots, they were/are Catholics.

What seems to be almost entirely missed by most Canadians is the force of the media. The two monoliths, CTV and CBC television are drumming this up and the print media is also in concert. Suddenly these worthies are all gung ho for the rights of the religious. A young woman of Lebanese descent has left the Quebec party out of protest. The press have their noble heroine here. They are trying to drive this business every day.

What is missed is the previous indifference to the persecution of those who are of the Christian faith. The Canadian judiciary has invoked penalties again and again against Christians. Persons who do not want to perform same sex marriage. Business people who refuse outlandish and perverted persons their services.

One man, a preacher, simply passed out leaflets near a high school against a classroom being set aside for Islamic prayers. The Christians were refused the same privilege. He had to read the Koran under the direction of an Imam. He had to drive three hours to regularly meet with the cleric, else go to prison.

What did we hear from the Canadian media? Could they be following the old adage of feeding the crocodile and hoping it will eat you last ? Anyway- on the past persecution of Christians.

Crickets.

Really, Canada. Quebec is so full of itself. You should let it go its own way.

The evaluation not stated on the Canadian MSM is freely discussed on the web. SDA for example.

The target is the hijab and burka. They dare not allow Christian icons and not Islamic. This has not avoided a mini fire storm. It is the influx of Muslims who do not assimilate that has them worried.
