Obama: I ‘Welcome’ Putin’s Involvement in Syria — ‘This is Not the Cold War’

President Barack Obama said he welcomes Russian President Vladimir Putin’s involvement with Syria, in an interview that aired Sunday.

“I welcome him being involved,” Obama said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“I welcome him saying, ‘I will take responsibility for pushing my client, the Assad regime, to deal with these chemical weapons,’” he continued. “This is not the Cold War. This is not a contest between the United States and Russia.”

The president, responding to Putin’s op-ed in the New York Times, said he doesn’t “think that Mr. Putin has the same values that we do.”

Obama added that Russian influence in Syria “doesn’t hurt our interests.”

Sounds like a desperate attempt to cover his own ineptitude in foreign affairs. The old pros Putin and Assad played him like a cheap violin.

On the other hand, if he honestly believes this, he's a world-class ninny.

Nobody on GMA this morning or in anything I've read mentions that this leaves McCain, Graham, and Boehner out there looking foolish supporting a plan than even Obama didn't support.

Every cloud has a silver lining....

At least during the Cold War, we had one party that was trying to advance the interests of the US.

Obama likes being dominated. This is what happens when you have a queer in the WH.

So I guess now Russia can do whatever it wants... The non aggression pact etc...

If venture is peaceful, usually it does not require the label of peace, like McDonalds for example.

So why insist there is no Cold War?

Fact is, Russia is still fighting WWII... And against us. Heck, there are still Germans with gripes against the UK.

We are inundated by a bunch of scheming Neville Chamberlains without a love for their country, as misplaced and as naïve as it was for him. Our ‘champions’ are only seeking to cut our historical traditional adults down to size and to deliver this country’s control and wealth to people who are barely able to wipe their own asses, if that.

It's only schooling if somebody learns from it.

We are in a Kafka world. Obama supports the role of Putin in the Syria civil war; Russia will keep Assad in power and maintain supplying him with unlimited conventional weapons while U.S. agreed that they will no attack Syria under any circumstances, even though the accord for the disposal of the chemical weapons is a complete embarrassment for the prestige of the United States’ role as first world power .

Many of those who support Obama’s involvement on the Syrian civil war are the same people who were opposed to the Iraq war, even though Syria is not a menace to the U.S. and it is a civil war among Muslims in which one band is as evil as the other.
To further their agenda those who want to involve U.S. in another Middle Eastern war are using as an emotional argument that Assad killed with chemical weapons over 1,400 civilians, most of them children according to the pictures. (According to the French intelligence, the dead were about 300 and the French leftist organization working in Syria, “Physicians without Frontiers”, put the dead count over 400.)
The problem is that the picture they are using was posted by the BBC and they had to retire it when the photographer who took the photo saw it on the BBC web site, it was taken on Iraq in 2003 when Saddam Hussein murdered with chemicals weapons more than 5,000 Kurds in a single day!
Even though BBC retired the picture, the fake photo was edited and all TV news programs keep posting it as proof of the horrendous crimes against humanity committed by the butcher of Bagdad. Obama, and those supporting the involvement of U.S. on Syria’s civil war on humanitarian grounds, prefer to ignore that they kept silent when Assad last year used chemicals weapons in Syria and when he murdered with conventional weapons more than 100,000 of his own people.
It is unconscionably that Obama had not shown the same humanitarian concern for the lives of the Christians, since Obama took power, more than one million Christians have been massacred all around Africa and their churches set on fire by Muslims while Obama, the United Nations, and the rest of the world, kept a thundered silence.

You or Vlad don't have the same values that we do, Barry. You're both POS totalitarians. He badmouths the exceptionalism of America (founding documents). You plunder the exceptional Americans.
