Former Treasury Secretary Calls Obama, Cites 'Acrimonious' Coming Confirmation
(Excerpt) Read more at online.wsj.com ...
“I have reluctantly concluded that any possible confirmation process for me would be acrimonious ...”
” ... and would not serve the interest of the Federal Reserve, the Administration ...”
” ... or, ultimately, the interests of the nation’s ongoing economic recovery.”
So was this the result of Obama giving him a gracious out?
Looks like Obama could’nt get a a parcel passed at a kids birthday at this rate.
I can’t read the article. Is there another link to use?
Only breaking, i’m sure we can update it when full details come out.
Actually his problem is that he’s not hard left enough.
OK. Thanks. :)
Is Bernie Madoff sprung yet?
So, does this clear the way for Lefty Yellen?
I just read a short biography of Summers. It doesn’t seem like he’d be on board with a lot of Obama’s whacked-out economic theories. Besides that, there were some things that would make the confirmation process interesting.
Obama has a way of leaving presumptive nominees hanging out there, slowly bleeding to death. Not the first time he’s done it.
Most likely. If she continues QE-infinity, it’s good to hold on to gold & silver.
Bad news. The left in the senate have finally succeeded in taking him down.
So meet the next fed chair. Her name is Janet. And she is a commie:
“So, does this clear the way for Lefty Yellen?”
Better link, if anyone knows how to update or change article, then please do.
Don’t confirm anyone until IRS answers all questions.
say hello to tax cheat Timmy.
the next commie Obama nominates will be just as bad
Maybe Putin can help him do his job here, too.
Obama team denies report Summers is Fed pick [9/13]
In race for Fed chair, Larry Summers reaches out to Elizabeth Warren
[snip] Warren has been a vocal critic of Summers’ effort to deregulate the financial sector when he was Treasury secretary under President Bill Clinton. As a member of the committee that will vote first on the White House’s pick for Fed chairman, she could be a roadblock in advancing a possible Summers nomination. [/snip]
Summers would have been our BEST choice since someone was gonna get it. What we will get will be much much worse.
Did’nt get very far did he, Obama cant even get his Fed pick through now, lol.
Nope. Will be worse by a magnitude of 10.
crooks....all of them...fed...congress nobama...the whole system wants to fail the middle class and America as a whole...market today is a total LIE...what is the difference between madoff and the govt and fed shysters...really?
off stage........ left
the sound of bones, of skeletons in the closet can be heard rattling
Unfortunately, you are spot on Leni. Obummer’s initial picks are always the Devils that we know where as the subsequent ones are always the Devils in disguise.
6 of one or a half dozen of the other.
John Corzine is available.
except this one did not even get out of the gate, it was lame before it even left the stable.
How about John Corzine? He makes things disappear with ease.
Our debt could be wiped clean on paper anyway. Like all the others close to Obama he wouldn't be accountable and there would be no acrimonious behavior within the executive branch.
She looks like something out of Kiev back in the day.
She appears trim in your photo, but she has an inflationary bias.
sorry this just came over twitter and i fell about laughing.......
Biden in Iowa: I think John Kerry has been one of the best secretaries of state so far in the history of the United States of America.
Why would any Republicrat want that job? The only economically sound way to unwind Bernanke’s mess is to plunge us into recession and get blamed for it - and that takes courage.
Or if they can continue the money-printing, and when interest rates keep going up, the Fed will be insolvent, and it only gets worse from there.
Or he knew about the letter and wanted a ‘dove’ and not a ‘hawk’ on inflation. Yellen is a hardcore lefty and they love her. We’ll get the worst out of her.
Corrine, obvious choice.
More like Bolshy Yellen. But yes she's definitely in.
Obama wanted Summers worse than he wanted Assad. But he peed down his leg and ran for cover on this one too.
Another bull dagger. Fits right in with the rest of his picks.
Feminist groups are still unhappy with Lawrence Summers, a top candidate for chairman of the Federal Reserve, over a comment from 2005 that they dubbed sexist.
He was the president of Harvard at the time, addressing an economics conference when he made the controversial comment:
It does appear that on many, many different human attributes height, weight, propensity for criminality, overall IQ, mathematical ability, scientific ability there is relatively clear evidence that whatever the difference in means which can be debated there is a difference in the standard deviation, and variability of a male and a female population, Summers said.
It was a head fake, at best.
It’s a ruse to get that Commie woman in there just like all the other commiserate women setting up the inability for pubbies to criticize women prior to Clinton...that’s my take and there is no such thing as convoluted or paranoid anymore.
I need glasses. I meant to say Corzine, the obvious choice.
Whose job? 0's? I believe he already is.
