De Blasio is NYC’s Obama—and he won’t get result either
New York Post ^ | September 14, 2013 | 9:38pm | Bob McManus

That was a big wide smile on Bill de Blasio’s face the other night, and why not? He sure as hell earned one.

He was the only Democrat in a cluttered primary field to recognize—and then to capitalize on—the lesson Barack Obama taught the nation in 2008: That is, it is no longer necessary to do important things to win high office; it is only necessary to talk about doing important things. Obama rode that insight into the White House, and de Blasio—bless his progressive heart—is at the cusp of the New York City mayoralty. …

(W)hat de Blasio really objects to—as did all of the Democratic candidates in last week’s primary—is effective policing, pure and simple. Why else would he favor federal oversight for the NYPD—at best, the creation of a debilitating leadership vacuum in the department; at worst, effective federal control of its command structure? That’s a dangerous game. …

Because his sons look like Obama's would have? (Sorry, I couldn't help it).

Well, Noo Yorik Siddy COULD have Anthony Weiner as their Democrat candidate for mayor.

There is just not a nice one to pick out of the lineup for the job. And the chance of a Republican (I think there is one in the race) picking up the Mayor’s office is really one in three - fat, slim and none.

The largest city in the territory once known as “the United States of America” is on the same track as Detroit. Still early in the descent, long ways to go yet, but destined for the same future.

Dystopia swirls about the air, and like a tornado, descends to the ground from time to time to wreak its havoc.

The film “Escape from New York” was much more prophetic than some want to believe. The setting of the story (time frame 1997) was in Manhattan, turned into a vast prison, with no escape permitted. So the time frame is a little quicker than real events, but the idea of sealing off Manhattan seems to be gaining credence.

If an attack like 9-11 happened again in NYC no one would give a shi’ite.

I think Lhota can pull it off. DeBlasio is a putz.

New York deserves what it gets. London is well on it’s way towards replacing New York as the financial capital of the world. With de Blasio, I can easily see that being completed.

Oh, yes he'll get results!

I predict black on white assaults, rapes, and homicides will go up 25 to 65% during his term. I predict test scores and literacy rates will fall, crime will increase, social service spending will increase, and the entire government will collapse, forcing the city to be bailed out by Washington. Results, indeed!

NYC has not elected a Democrat in 20 years. Republican/Independents usually win.

And neither will be blamed or held responsible for the resulting wreckage.

People deserve the government they get. Unfortunately, we’re getting dragged down with the lot of them. My goal is to learn to thrive and prosper in my own manner during the decline. There are things that they can’t take from me.

No, it’s because he’s a suck-up who was actually against it before he was for it. He’s very left wing but his job with the city was a completely nothing job and he’s just trying to latch onto some cause that he thinks would endear him to the radical left and their black minions.

Maybe blacks will wake up someday and vote in some way that will help them (not radical leftist), but I doubt it.

However, I have read that de Blasio is planning on backing off on this because most New Yorkers, including blacks, were in favor of the program.

That said,I think Lhota actually has a pretty good chance. He’s socially liberal, like Giuliani, but fiscally conservative and into crime stopping. NYC won’t go anywhere if crime isn’t kept under control.

De Blasio is a freakish nutjob. He could end up one of the worst Mayors ever of a major city.

I don't know if it's ironic or not but New Yorkers may actually miss Bloomberg this time next year.

You know, that is EXACTLY what I told my neighbors in a friendly lawn confab today. I said, "DeBlasio is to NYC what Odungo is to the U.S. A flaming liberal out to redistribute your hard-earned dollars to the bums that sit around and smoke weed, and the illegals who don't even belong here in the first place."

"Just wait," I said, "until they start giving drivers' licenses to illegals just like in California. One idiot NYC councilman, Daniel Dromm, actually offered legislation a month or so ago to allow illegals to VOTE. So why should we bust our humps paying taxes if the main benefits of being citizens are being given out like Halloween candy to those who have no business even being here, let alone voting or getting a drivers license."

One of the neighbors, a legal immigrant from Viet Nam, vigorously agreed. Why should illegals be allowed to step in front of people who do things legally and sometimes wait years until they can enter the U.S.? That's just unfair.

Yup. He is already interviewing new police commissioner candidates. Naturally, there is a woman and a black candidate right off. You have significant reductions in crime, so you toss the guy responsible for that because he’s a white man. Makes sense to me, right?

I was listening to a most excellent investigative reporter earlier today--Aaron Klein, author of the Manchurian President, Fool Me Twice, and The Late Great State of Israel. He dug up that DeBlasio is a member of the socialist New Party, same as Odungo.

So the parallels between these two pieces of steaming by-product are very close.

NYC votes stupidly, which is why I wish they would leave my state and have a state of their own. They give us Cuomo, Schumer, Gillibrand, and most the leftist nuts (although sometimes upstate votes stupidly, too).

Glad to hear there’s hope for NYC. I have some nice, CONSERVATIVE in-laws there.
