No, it’s because he’s a suck-up who was actually against it before he was for it. He’s very left wing but his job with the city was a completely nothing job and he’s just trying to latch onto some cause that he thinks would endear him to the radical left and their black minions.
Maybe blacks will wake up someday and vote in some way that will help them (not radical leftist), but I doubt it.
However, I have read that de Blasio is planning on backing off on this because most New Yorkers, including blacks, were in favor of the program.
That said,I think Lhota actually has a pretty good chance. He’s socially liberal, like Giuliani, but fiscally conservative and into crime stopping. NYC won’t go anywhere if crime isn’t kept under control.
