If this changes the ROE's things could get real ugly out there
You must have missed the part were the victim was trying to get help after an accident?
This is far from cut and dried.
POS, LEO needs to be tried and convicted for the POS that he his!
Agreed, of course in Las Vegas they would have a hearing and call it justified. That is one reason I will never visit there. Good to see Charlotte facing up to its responsibilities in this case.
After the volcanic racial criticism heaped on the Sanford Police Department and on the Sanford prosecutor for not indicting Zimmerman, this is the new normal.....
Arrest the white guy - then the MSM and the race hustlers and Obama will leave you alone.
Did he have a cell phone on him, and if he did, why didn’t HE call 911? Knocking on someone’s door at 2:30 AM might be considered rather suspicious by the resident....
He's toast, then (the cop).
Al and Jesse have already booked their tickets.
The part that makes it more complicated was that there was an apparent report that went out in the area of a black guy pounding on a woman’s door and acting bizarre (most likely this guy) and that it was thought it was more of a drug/weird behavior rather than accident victim thing.
The cop turned himself late Saturday.
Bail was set at $50,000, he paid it, and was released.
That sounds REALLY strange to me.
How does someone get a bail hearing for voluntary manslaughter late on Saturday?
Another curious fact.....
The car wreck was so serious the vic had to crawl out his rear window.
And another curious fact.....
The front door he pounded on was half a mile from the wreck.
This is metro Charlotte.
He had to walk by a lot of houses before he started pounding on one.
It is not uncommon for first responders to be attacked by accident victims, especially those with head injuries.
The cops thought they had B&E perp, not some guy from a car wreck.
Also, I want to read this guy's Toxicology Screen before I start indicting police officers.
My speculation is that when he crashed his car he was fairly well intoxicated and the reason he left the vehicle was to avoid being arrested and charged with DUI. And I'd like to know why he remained on the woman's property when it must have been obvious that she had fears about him; also, why he charged police officers when confronted. As an ex-football player he's no doubt big and intimidating, and the fact that he was unarmed might thus be irrelevant.
I suspect that he walked until he saw a house with lights on. The woman was expecting her husband’s arrival so opened the door without thinking of it. At 2:30 am not a smart choice. Bad outcome almost guaranteed.
If, if ,if, if... the facts, as reported, are all true and accurate, I see this as an extremely unfortunate occurrence, due in part to an officer overreacting AND overreacting because of the way all too many black men behave.
Like Jessie Jackass, if I’d more than likely would have two different reactions if I saw a white man or a black man run towards me in the early hours of the morning.
If it is possible to put the 10 million decks of Obama manufactured race cards aside, the LEO sure seems to be on the wrong side of the law here.
