The White House said Saturday U.S. President Barack Obama will speak next week about economic growth following the worst recession since the Great Depression.
In a statement, the White House said the president will speak Monday in the Rose Garden to discuss "the progress we have made to grow the economy and create 7.5 million private sector jobs, and highlight the work we still need to do to strengthen the middle class and those fighting to get into it."
The statement said Obama will "highlight his better bargain for the middle class, and warn against more self-inflicted wounds from Washington."
The president will be joined at the White House by people the statement said "have benefited from his economic recovery proposals over the last five years including small business owners, construction workers, homeowners, consumers and tax cut recipients."

It was really easy to guess where this presidency would end up the night he was first elected.
What I didn’t guess was how easily he would be able to mask this horrendous economy.
He hasn’t created anything but handouts.
After what I've learned about FDR in the past 5 years I really doubt this. There is no way FDR should get credit for ending the Depression. It amazes me how he did get away with it. He got away with it because liberal progressives control education and got to write the history on it.
I just can't wait (sarcasm) for my daughter to come home from school when she is about 17 years old to tell me about how their teacher said Obama saved us, or it wasn't his fault because blah blah blah blah.
Our policies of Hope and Change are paying off. Domestically are trade balance is perfect.
My fellow Americans, we are experiencing a growth rate unparalleled since the end of WWII.
The economy has never been better. More and more jobs are being added with each passing day.
We have become more energy reliant.
As a nation, we are more united for a common purpose than at anytime since WWII.
African Americans and whites have the best race relations since the Civil War.
Crime has bottomed out and the average American can afford to buy a house and educate his kids at Universities.
On the Foreign policy front, we have an unsurpassed power and strength not seen since 1945.
Nations around the world envy our stability, income and soft power projection.
We have reversed the embarrassing war policies of my predecessor.
Nations respect and look up to us and know they can count on us when the going gets tough.
US credibility is at an apex.
We have kept the Russians and Chinese in check and they are at our mercy.
In short, my fellow Americans the nation, her people and this Presidency is the best in US and world history and I, sit at the top of the heap.
So, thank you for giving me your trust.

He’s probably on the line right now talking to Putin, asking him what to say and do to “straighten out the economic mess he inherited.”
Putin will tell him to lower interest rates to home buyers to -5%, with -20% down. This will stimulate the economy.
obama will give the plan a thumbs us and announce it tonight.

So, the food stamp president, the guy ultimately responsible for the destruction of the 40 hour work week, is going to talk about economic growth.
I heard a news bit on the radio this morning complaining about how Summers got criticism from Democrats because of how he always lets you know that he is the smartest person in any room. That’s competition that Obama simply cannot have.
It’s depressing to know 49% approve of this muslime-marxist.
He didn’t get the rave reviews and adoration he usually gets from the media/Leftists on his Syria speech, so he’s going to try again on another subject he lies about with impunity. Since it’s a domestic matter, maybe Putin won’t embarrass him this time.
