If you have any doubts that President Obamas handling of Syria is an utter debacle, witness the embarrassing spectacle this morning as his top aides scramble to place blame for it at their bosss feet.
In todays Wall Street Journal, senior officials leak how they desperately tried to talk Obama out of his head-spinning reversal on airstrikes and his decision to go to Congress. He received swift and negative responses from his staff, the Journal reports. National security adviser Susan Rice, we learn, warned that he risked undermining his powers as commander in chief. Senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel also raised concerns. But Obama ignored their advice and took the gamble anyway.

Wow, the minions are trying to throw the Messiah under the bus!
The arrogance of President Obama!
Remember when Biden told President Bush, “Look behind you. There’s no one there”? This is now the Obama Administration’s situation. No one is listening any longer.
*snicker* I think someone has been spending a little time around moochele recently...
Next, she'll be announcing HER run for the presidency. I mean, bloody hell, who's going to object? Only a racist would object to her running when Mr. moochele has done such an outstanding job! (/sarc)
I went ahead and read the comments on the article. Wow. Talk about people who have no connection to reality. The lefties really believe that conservatives are mad because we DIDN’T attack Syria, that we WANTED dead soldiers. Most shocking, they really believe 0bama won a 100% victory because they got Putin to “back down.”
I have never seen people with such a shallow grasp of international affairs. They have absolutely no idea just how bad 0bama has screwed us in the Middle East, and around the world in general. They still hate Bush, but Bush was repsected. 0bama is shunned and laughed at. Not to them; they think the world is just as in awe of him as they are. But hey, that’s 51-53% of our country now, I guess....
Well, the world has some weird ideas of what greatness is. The world likes autocrats. But autocrats invariably fumble when they encounter a gap in their own expertise. An Obama that consulted heavily with Congress would be a better president by far. He might as well try some humility. Pride has chewed him up and spit him out.
They’re trying to make him look like a “statesman”.
Unfortunately for them, America knows that Hussein answers to a shadowy cabal of leftists — and it was that cabal that made the decision.
Gotta be some sort “Unbelievably Small” bumper sticker in this....
translation: More elitist DC policy wonks have their knickers in a twist because Valerie Jarrett overruled them.
but then nobody could read it without rear ending you
Too much unaccountable power given to one man!
I thought it was Reggie who once said to Obambi: “Uh, unbelievably small!”
well like i noted. pride will trip itself up by blocking out the wisdom its owner would need to keep succeeding. it is self punishing.
They had no choice. Putin put them into a box. To bomb Syria after Assad said he would give the WMD up, would have meant impeachment on the global stage. Not for the president, but for the Oligarchy. To think that they never even explored the idea of Assad giving up his weapons, demonstrates that diplomacy was the last thing they wanted.
Obama is the shrinking president—soon he will become a liability and will need to be tossed overboard by the Liberal/Progressives as Trotski was dumped by Stalin.
The rats are heading for the hawsers. Must mean the ship is sinking.
This is out of the Washington Post.
