(Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday he would not negotiate with Congress over whether to raise the U.S. debt ceiling and chided Republicans for threatening to bring the government to a halt in an effort to repeal his signature healthcare reform law.

The White House is gearing up for difficult budget talks with lawmakers, but it has said consistently that the president would not negotiate over the debt limit, which must be raised so Washington can pay its bills.

So much for the three equal branches of government.

Some branches are more equal than others.

Why should he negotiate when the spineless “Republicans” always bend over for him to have his way with them?

He should NOT negotiate for sure. He should just agree to cut spending and not raise taxes.

And, he's already put out the lead meme for his propaganda arm (the "news" media). He's accusing the Repubs of attempting to shut down the government over ObamaCare, when the real truth is he'll shut down the government if he doesn't sign the bill that doesn't contain funding for his massive attempt at controlling everyone's lives.

Don’t raise it and shut down the government WITH NO RETROACTIVE PAY!!!!

While it’s shut down, eliminate agencies and fire everyone that works for them.

DOES OBAMA KNOW HOW TO NEGOTIATE??

But he does know how to dance, as they party tonight at the WH while twelve people were killed just two miles away..

2016 can’t come soon enough.

He will negotiate with Putin and let Russia dictate the plan to remove Syria’s chemical weapons in order to get himself out of the jam he got us into but he won’t negotiate with Congress on the burden he’s saddling this country with.

Perhaps John Boehner should convert to Islam and join al-Qaeda. Then Obama will negotiate with him.

Obastard will win this argument.

The GOPe knows it, so keep that in mind the next time a RINO Congressman tells you he’s keeping his defunding Obastardcare powder dry for the battle over the debt-ceiling. He’s lying through his teeth to you.

Obama says will not negotiate with Congress on debt ceiling

Good, he should not have to.

Borrowing money is the sole prerogative of Congress. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the President.

The strongest democracies flourish from frequent and lively debate, but they endure when people of every background and belief find a way to set aside smaller differences in service of a greater purpose.

Why should he negotiate when the spineless “Republicans” always bend over for him to have his way with them?

Ditto for all the leading dems... why should Reid and Pelosi ever give an inch when the repubs reflexively give away the ranch? They know there's no courage in the ranks of senior GOPers, so they just plant their feet and bide their time. Doesn't take much at all to frighten a repub into surrender.

Not going to go along with Congress on whatever they decide on the debt ceiling.

Not going to go along with Congress on whatever they decide on Syria.

Not going to go along with Congress on whatever they decide on ObamaCare.

Not going to go along with Congress on whatever they decide on ____________.

Seems to be a pattern. Bet he couldn’t play nice in the sand box either.

If the republicans were to hold fast it would take about a week of no government programs before liberals would be calling Pelosi and Reid saying “I don’t care who’s fault it is. Do something!”
