Vice President Joe Biden implored Americans on Monday to find the resources to invest in its ports, warning the U.S. will fall behind its competitors unless it spends now to bolster its infrastructure.

Addressing a crowd of about 300 on a wind-swept dock in Charleston, S.C., Biden said the United States is behind the rest of the world.

Social programs and government largess are consuming more and more of our money to the detriment of everything else.

Can’t have it both ways.

“Look behind you, Joe! There’s no one there!”
Central Planning destroys innovation, the key to a growing economy. Those who understand how to ‘create value’ are taking time off, hoping the dumbmasses come to their senses.

We used to have money for infrastructure. But now 90% goes to transfer payments. And TV is loaded with ads from lawyers wanting to help you go on SSI.

That’s it... Invest in ports.

In slightly different words, but with the same meaning... More money to bolster union jobs at shipping yards.

Infrastructure is code word for 'Unions'.

“Infrastructure” is code for pork barrel projects to line the pockets of businesses or labor unions that support the politicians.

My guess is Hillary will have vanquished SlowJoe by end of Feb 2016.

Of course in Jan 2008 we all thought she was a lock for the nomination before some unknown from Kenya by way of Chicago named Baraq came in and stole the kishka...

The “deputy leader of the free world” could only round-up 300 people to listen to his harangue in a major port city? I'm betting I could get more people together to watch me doing stand-up comedy, and I'm not a comedian like he is.

That would be the same infrastructure Obama and Biden were going to upgrade back in 2009 with the $900 billion dollar Stimulus Program.

But the money all disappeared into the pockets of Obama’s political supporters and those “shovel ready” jobs never saw one thin dime.

But we need modern ports to import all the stuff that is no longer being made here in America thanks to the Oconomy.

iden: Infrastructure is key to growing middle class

Yeah, because compared to Central America, South America, Africa, or Asia, our infrastructure is severely underdeveloped. *ahem*

Let's see...uh, this...

Three-quarters of Americans think teachers paid less than they really are
Washington Examiner ^ | 9-16-13 | ASHE SCHOW

"Seventy-four percent of Americans think teachers make less than they really do, according to a new poll from Rasmussen. The average teacher salary in America is $55,000 (upward of $75,000 in Chicago), but three quarters of Americans think teachers earn less than that. Over half of Americans (52 percent) believe teachers are paid too little."

...or infrastructure?

Pivot back to “infrastructure.” They pirouette so much, they need Rahm back. Can’t focus on one single thing for more than a week.

One of my coworkers was going off about Tom Steyer turning activist to fight the Keystone project. I told him he needed to follow the money so he looked up all Steyer’s public holdings. He is, surprise surprise, big into all the kinds of companies that would compete with a Keystone pipeline. Just like Warren Buffett. Obama’s dislike of Keystone is all political payback to his rich friends that make money off blockage of the pipeline.

That makes sense. I’ve seen the same in local governments (commissioners’ meetings), where relatives, former employees or other associates of business interests pretended to be radical environmentalists or animal-worshipers in order to stop new, small production business starts in rural areas.
