Even at the top colleges, professors may be disallowed from failing minority students anyway. (I know an adjunct at Harvard who was told this expressly.)

Can’t say how much I agree with you. The white male is the only creature on the planet that is allowed to be discriminated against.
Since we can’t have a “white history” month, I 100% support you pointing out to your sons all the things white people did and do, the PC public school system will certainly downplay our races accomplishments.
This is also should be a warning sign for my fellow residents of Texas on just how Hispanics will treat whites as there population and political clout grows.
One foolish trait whites do have, they think power sharing will be “fair” when minorities take positions of power.....many are in for a rude awakening as we shift to the minority position.

PS: For those who wish to comment with “your racist”, save it, I’ve heard it so many times it means nothing.

I didn’t know any colleges even denied it; once they let “students” in with a sixth-grade education (and I’m being generous), then how can you even hold them to an eighth-grade standard? It is actually very sad to see the bewildered look in their eyes as the white and Asian students bob their heads in understanding while the black and Hispanic students are clueless. They are years behind, and for the first time they are realizing it because nobody has been honest with them. If they qualify for a county college they put them in a state school; if they qualify for a state school they put them in the Ivy League. They therefore end up always behind, and while I resent it I pity them; they get nothing out of the schooling that way (and end up demoralized and angry).

Yet, it is a tradeoff they eagerly take—and through their children then opt to take again.

Having that Ivy degree or whatever, coupled with the defensive anger, makes them resent anyone doubting the false credentials that they inflate themselves with pride over. Such a degree is the ultimate race card to coerce lifelong job and other unearned perks over the more qualified.

I’d imagine with a lot of the staffing cuts going on in the real world many of these “fake workers” were among the first let go (as long as it didn’t upset the de facto legal requirement that 13% of jobs go to blacks). In the end, a company wants to know how you can help the bottom line, and if the answer is only that you might stave off a EEOC lawsuit, then you’re on thin ice.

It is too easy to defend laying someone off when they can barely read/write; put them on the stand and they’re done.

Aren’t companies at risk if their layoffs are of “disparate impact”?

I went to Stanford in the 70’s. The hispanics I knew were quite capable students and not much different from anyone else. I only knew 1 black and he was a geeky engineering student who was pretty good too and pretty much “an oreo”.

The students who were not good were the athletes. I knew a caucasian basketball player who dropped out, a caucasian swimmer who dropped out, and a caucasian runner and two caucasian football players who did graduate but really had to work at it.

There were a lot of blacks on campus but they tended to self segregate so it was hard to get to know them.

You do realize the ‘70s was 40 years ago?

From my observations, hispanics are hard working, take school at least somewhat seriously.

I can not say the same about 50% of the blacks.

But trashing the hispanics the same as blacks is off base in my opinion.

Before LBJ’s Great Society, Blacks ,at least the ones I knew, took education very seriously.

That’s odd. And here I thought that discrimination based on race and skin color was against the law, as mandated by government, unless that discrimination is being committed by government. Somebody ought to tell this professor that it’s not in his job description to exclude whitey from his “help sessions”.

Have you looked at their test and grade scores? Dropout rates?

My point isn’t to “trash” any group, but to expose the impacts and results of affirmative action.

The college hispanics I have met speak better english than the blacks overall and often are better than the caucasians.

And if you really got rid of AA at the top schools, white enrollment would decline along with the blacks and hispanics and all you would have would be asians, indians and jews.

I’m all for merit.

There’s no more reason we should be discriminating against Asian-Americans or Jews for college slots than for anyone else.

And yeah, there are lots of Hispanics who resent being lumped in the category anyway, be they from Cuba or from Spain or Germany via Uruguay, or whatever the situation is. (Not that they mind a little affirmative-action boost, even if by dint of some distant relative’s Hispanic surname, however.) But proportionately more top students than for blacks, which is what you’re suggesting? That’s what the statistics show as well.

That’s why they have to keep their eye on their quotas when doing such things.

In the early nineties they had already begun the “social promotion” policy of sending blacks to the next level of schools (above that where their qualifications would merit); as a result many of the black students were segregated into the “remedial building” taking high school classes that would have been required of white APPLICANTS. There were a good number of African students mixed with the general population, and they were serious about school/good students. Hispanics were very much assimilated with the general student body as well.

Do colleges get federal money for accepting minority students?

“Do colleges get federal money for accepting minority students?”

They get some guaranteed payments for their grants, and state schools simply act the same as state employers in the wealth re-distribution scheme.
