A Bosnian Muslim congregation filed a federal lawsuit Monday against Des Plaines and five aldermen, alleging they violated its religious freedom when they denied permission to convert a vacant office building into a community center and Muslim house of worship.
The American Islamic Center claims in the suit that aldermen violated its constitutional rights by refusing to rezone an industrial park to accommodate a mosque.
"We are not happy that we have to file this lawsuit," said Imam Senad Agic. "We are hoping the City Council of Des Plaines would understand our religious needs."
But aldermen say allowing any house of worship in an industrial park would endanger pedestrians and impede neighboring manufacturers.
"I don't care if they're Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, whatever. It's not zoned for that particular area," said Ald. Mark Walsten, who was named in the suit because he voted against an amendment to accommodate the mosque. "Whenever there are children involved in an industrial area, I will not have that on my conscience."
Members of the American Islamic Center, who have rented space in a Rolling Meadows mosque since March 2011, had hoped to purchase the vacant building, formerly occupied by an insurance company. Many of the center's 160 members fled Bosnia in the 1990s to escape war and genocide.

It would be great if we could even get tot he point where we tell Muslims that if they want to be treated as ordinary people like everyone else, that is what they are gonna get. They are gonna have to deal with their religion and values being degraded just as traditional Christians do every day, they are going to face the exact same restrictions Christians face when they want to worship publicly and praise Jesus as their Savior publicly. And Muslim nations and communities that violate basic human rights will be called out on it every time. And if they don’t like it, there are literally dozens of nations, cities and states they can go to where any criticism of Islam, indeed any treatment of Islam other than placing it on a pedestal, is not allowed. And so we will NOT treat them as an oppressed community that has nowhere else to go.
I don’t think we can in the near future get to the point where we are deporting everyone in the US who is Egyptian, Bosnian, Pakistan, Syrian, Iranian and so on and/or deporting from the US anyone who is of Egyptian, Bosnian, Iranian, Pakistani, Syrian or other such descent. But I would be doing backflips if we can even get to the point where our policy towards them is what I outlined above.

In above link there is a posting by an American woman who settled Bosnian Muslim refugees in the US. Highlights:
” My entire immediate family and many friends were involved in helping re-settle refugees from various places in the world. My bad experiences with Bosnains were mainly related to the abuse of very young children (aged 2, 4 and 6) who were left unattended for hours at a time while the mother was out with other Bosnian women (also mothers of small kids) shopping for food and other things. It was not as if there [were] no sitters available. The apartment complex, which was a part of the re-settlement program, had a short term day care center for kids under 10 just for refugee residents. Granted there was a 3 hour time limit, but those Bosnians did NOT want to leave their kids with NON-MUSLIMS!! So to heck with them!! They ate pork, ham and drank beer so what’s up with playing the NON-MUSLIM card in regards to child care?
My daughter and one of her boyfriends were threatened by Bosnian men when they brought foodstuffs and a table over for some of the “lost boys from the Sudan” who lived in a “mixed” refugee apartment complex. My daughter was asked WHY she was helping “niggers”????? She was told if they ever came back something might happen to their car. See, Bosnians are like thugs. It is all for them and nothing for anybody else. “
Perhaps at one point inn time they were more secularized, more like other Europeans and not as corrupted by Islam, but apparently those days are long gone.
Ask any assistant principal or chief of police who the problem people are...

Starting with the first Bush, muslims started coming in by the droves and buying convenience stores and motels. Then they started buying fast food joints. You have to have a lot of money to buy a McDonald’s. Being that wealthy in Pakistan would put you at the very top and living like a king. Where do they get the money? I have a suspicion.
i don’t say all of them, I say the uppity ones that have the agenda to change this country to islam, one step at a time. this kind of crap is the beginning of trouble when they are still at low population percentages. it only gets worse as the percentage increases. more demanding and more violent.
if the rest see we are going to deport those that make a stink and try to push a sharia agenda here, they will either shut up and remain civil and enjoy the benefits of this place, or they’re gone.
and the difference is that islam wants to replace the country as it’s founded. christianity does not as this country was founded by Christians wanting religious freedom and escaping religious persecution. Restoring the country to a pro-Christian country is not at all TRANSFORMING it into something it never was, namely another conquered land in the muslim worldwide caliphate under sharia law.
