I’ll say this: DiCaprio has really matured as an actor and is being compared to the greats of yesteryear. If anybody can play a historical figure, it’s him.

Doing a little reading on A. Scott Berg. From Wikipedia...

Berg also wrote the story for Making Love (1982), a controversial film that was the first major studio drama to address the subjects of gay love, closeted marriages, and coming out. He has contributed articles to magazines such as Architectural Digest and Vanity Fair.

He has my begrudging respect as an actor, which he won with Aviator, and he burnished with his Gatsby. Pity he should use his talents to lionize an evil, despicable character like Wilson.

Never mind Woody hated blacks. Never mind that blacks had worked as bureaucrats and Woody sent them all packing.

Never mind that it was Woody who......

You get the point.

Not sure I've ever seen anything with Ben Afleck in it, so I wouldn't know. Damon is certainly a punk, but did ok in Saving Private Ryan. I don't know how or why he ended up in the remake of True Grit, but at least he didn't ruin it.

While I respect his ability as an actor, I think there’s too much “push” by either him or the studios to get him into roles where he’s miscast. He does a decent job in the role, but ultimately his boyish appearance makes his playing “adult” roles unbelievable.

Damon was every bit as unlikeable as Glen Campbell was in that part.

I guess that not being able to act was part of that part

Wilson was one of the worst presidents ever. He may have been the most dangerous president. On top of that, he was the most overt, anti-black bigot to ever occupy the White House. He deserves none of the praise he gets. But he’s the perfect example of a Democrat — using government power recklessly and in a way that puts the country in danger, and obsessed with race.

From what I've read, Calvin Coolidge personally undertook a purge of klansmen from government wherever he could find them. He took a solid barrage of hate mail from racists and answered quite a few of them.

In 1924, Coolidge responded to a letter that claimed the United States was a "white man's country":

....I was amazed to receive such a letter. During the war 500,000 colored men and boys were called up under the draft, not one of whom sought to evade it. [As president, I am] one who feels a responsibility for living up to the traditions and maintaining the principles of the Republican Party. Our Constitution guarantees equal rights to all our citizens, without discrimination on account of race or color. I have taken my oath to support that Constitution....

The KKK was effectively Wilson’s version of Organizing for America. They were the ones sitting in bars, restaurants, and town hall meetings listening for who didn’t support the war and turning them in. They were the ones who showed up to pump up crowd numbers at protests in favor of progressive ideals. They were the ones working to intimidate and silence opposition.

If there is any president who could rate worse than Obama, it’s Wilson. He had control of the media by way of the Committee on public information or “Creel Commission”.

If I am not Mistaken, wasn't it Wilson who Re-Segregated the government?

It had been unsegregated for like 15 years, (I think under Benjamin Harrison).

But then Mr. "Writing History Like Lighting" Wilson came in and got rid of all those "undesirables".

I have said it before and I will say it again.

I'd say about 2000, I watching Nickelodeon and they had a little skit about the Presidential Election (it was around election time) and they had this black teenage girl on there talking about how her Great Grandmothers First Vote for President was Calvin Coolidge. And how proud her grandmother was of that.

Even at 12 I was stunned by that and at the time I realized that it hadn't always been so clear cut in politics.

Of Cousre, but Hitler didn't have to worry about Elections.

Wilson waited until after he was elected a second time (which he could have still run for a third term, but that was still unbroken).

And then SHAZAM! The Drums of War reached here, to remake American nearer to the hearts diser, it just took what Hundreds of Thousands of American Dead to get what Wilson wanted, the League of Nations

Of Course the Country went Hard Right in 1920, feeling betrayed and wanted normalcy and told the League of nations to get bent
