Yeah. Let’s talk about the murderous tendencies of Bhuddists. Let’s ignore the elephant in the room of the world wide murderous acts of Islamists!

“Finally, Tibetan Buddhist cosmology features a “vast number of divine beings (each with its own family, consort, and pacific and terrifying aspects), which are considered symbolic representations of the psychic life by the religiously sophisticated and accepted as realities by the common people.” ....

In view of the above factors, scholars and Buddhists alike tend to describe Buddhism as atheistic in the sense that it denies an eternal creator God {7}, while recognizing its theistic and devotional elements.

This is the thing, they basically still do have “divine beings in the faith.

They definitely have a lot of Spiritual Beings though the article seems to imply they are actually representations but probably not to the common man.

This guy was about as much of a Buddhist as the Westboro Baptists are Christians.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Agreed. I wonder if he had taken refuge and who his teacher or preceptor was? I am waiting to hear.

But everyone should know that contrary to the liberal wanker ideals on Buddhism ( which began prior to WWII with European exploration access to Tibet and eventually contributed to the fall of Tibet), Buddhists traditionally wage war when necessary. Look at the history of Gesar of Ling, Ashoka Maharaja, and the present Kingdoms of Buthan and Thailand. Today its fight or be consumed by Islam for many Buddhist countries. And they will fight. Why should anyone have a problem with that?

A mix of both. I work with a gentleman from Vietnam who is Buddhist, and he has told me that it tends to be atheistic. I do suspect that is him trying to put it into western terms.

Most I have met are Americans who were not born to it.

Thats right about Burma. But every nation should have the right to defend itself. As a culture they have been resisting Muslim invasion for centuries.

Recently the liberals had an apoplectic seizure about it.

"Today its fight or be consumed by Islam for many Buddhist countries. And they will fight."

The same is true for the Sikhs of the Punjab.

Pacifist by tradition, they morphed into a martial people largely because of Moslem aggression.

A popular Punjabi singer, Gurdas Mann tells the story.

Actually Buddhism is non-theistic, it is neither atheistic or theistic. That is why ot is called the “Middle Way.”
The Buddha was silent about the question of god/no god.He simply instructed human beings in the pracrtice of meditation, called Shamatha..resting the mind in peace, and how to walk the 8 fold path, using the 4 noble truths as a foundation. He told people to work diligently for their own salvation.)

If you want to practice meditation, there is no necessity to abandon your religious beliefs. For one to become “Buddhist” one must find a preceptor who has recieved the ability from ancient times from mouth to ear in a continuous lineage, and request refuge in the Three Jewels: The Buddha, the dharma ( teachings) and the sangha ( the community of practitioners). This means one should not seek refuge from Impermanence anywhere else.

The fundamentals of Buddhism are not well known in America, but there is no evangelical initiative or conversion process
in Buddhism.People come to it on their own as a result of karma.

The Buddhist Assassin may of may not have been Buddhist. In any event he was very confused and it seems that Buddhism had not really clarified his confusion at all, as it could have.I do not know why this is. Our Buddhist Asassin was perhaps a cultural Buddhist, caught by the cultural trappings of Thailand, but not the meditation practices themselves.Perhaps latter the facts will come out to reveal more.

People can find out more about Buddhism here:

Its an historical trend. The Islamofascists over the centuries have created many martial societies, including the Knights Templar, and indeed others such as the Sikhs.
And so it is with many Buddhist cultures. The Buddhists were exterminated from Afghanistan.

Thank you for the link. Here in exchange is a Buddhist one about one of the Greatest Buddhist warriors who ever lived, Gesar of Ling, sung in Tibetan:

Why would a muslim call the police to report persistent voices through the floor, ceiling and walls, following him to three different hotels in one night?

Just because someone is moslem is no reason to rule out that they are also insane. In fact, after reading the koran I am certain that all moslems have some degree of insanity in them.

I wouldn't argue with that.

But my point was really about how the US media handles Islam. If a Muslim goes wild and shoots a bunch of people, the refrain is always "Islam is a religion of peace" and "One crazy person should not reflect badly on an entire religion". But here we see the US media handling a Buddhist who went wild: "Well, it's a violent religion, you know."

I'm not focusing on Buddhism.
Heck, I'm not even focusing on Islam.
I'm focusing on the fact that the US media lies to us and tries to help our enemies infiltrate our society and do damage and escape blame because the media covers for them.

Unlike Western religions, Buddhism thinks it is okay to practice it with another religion at the same time. Note how the Japanese combine Buddhism with Shinto, and how the Chinese combine Buddhism, Confucianism, Daoism and ancestor worship.

#6: Agree that the media, esp. the Wash. Post, are trying to blame Buddhism for one crazy man’s actions in an attempt to cover up his mental problems.

Why tell the truth when you can make up a “new truth”?

The key issue is not his “faith” which had nothing to do with this anyway, but the breakdown in acting on warnings that he was having severe mental problems (re having a gun, CCPermit, hallucinations, a security clearance, and just behaving very strangely).

Years ago the ACLU won a major court decision which forced states to release mental patients who had been incarcerated for care without giving there consent.

Now those patients are writers for the mainstream media.

“Dr. McCoy, we have a problem”.

Yeah, but the classification does have an impact. Like I mentioned before, in a society where the understanding of ‘religion’ is more restricted to the presence of deity (not just concern about after life), those deity-base religion would find themselves in a more disadvantageous situation.

Exactly! I, for one, am not going to play their game. A black American who experimented with Buddhism probably experimented with Islam too. I don't think a black or white American is representative of Buddism.

Another thing, black Americans are not the stereotypical American "mass murderer". We had the DC snipers but they were driven by a religious ideology AKA Islam.

Another non-white mass murderer in my lifetime was the Asian liberal who did the shooting at the college. His rant was all liberal agenda stuff.

I'm tilting toward this black guy having a mental illness rather than terrorism and there are already laws on the book against him having a gun. Somebody dropped the ball twice on this guy.

It's not the first time the ball has been dropped under the Obama administration. Nearly all the mass murders were unnecessary as their own restrictions should have prevented them from happening. Makes me wonder if somebody high up in the US government is turning a blind eye with the objective to turn American opinion against guns.

Clinton once said he would be willing to accept a certain number of murders if it would help with his anti-gun agenda.

This man's race does not fit the stereotype of a mass murderer. Personally I think race has no part in it but it's just odd that this happens to be the time for it to be the first one.

The US government is turning a blind eye like they did with fast and furious, the Mexican borders and who knows how many of these recent shooting under Obama.

This guy was about as much of a Buddhist as the Westboro Baptists are Christians.

Atheist reporters (not to repeat myself) typically think that religion is a magic spell: you say you're one (Buddhist, Christian, etc), and then you magically embody all your religion's ideals, good points, bad points and every act by a co-religionist throughout history -- until you do something politically incorrect according to the Marxist faith. Then you're fair game for media scolding.

They also think all religions are exactly the same.

Morons.

I believe both Obamas have also validated the victim mentality of a large number of Blacks who attribute their lack of progress and success on Whites or simply “racist America”.

I saw a quote from this Alexis that he was not wild about America, or something to that effect.

The Obamas have made it fashionable to hate our way of life, and they have paid no price for that, nor have they been blamed for the set-back in race relations and the increase in Black on (fill in the blank) crimes.
