Theres a detail deep in this Washington Post story that deserves to be more widely known:
As it intensifies its withdrawal from Afghanistan, the U.S. military is being forced to fly massive amounts of gear and equipment out of the country instead of using cheaper overland and sea routes, according to Pentagon officials.
Military logisticians would like to send home 60 percent of their equipment and vehicles by trucking them into Pakistan and then loading them onto ships the least expensive method by far. But cargo is flowing out on that route at only one-third the planned rate, the officials said...

It appears that the Afghani's have taken a page right out of the playbook of the JustUs Brothers - Jackson and Sharpton. More chickens coming home to roost.
The American way of waging war doesn’t work.
Simple don’t fight wars with politicians involved. Second don’t fight wars you don’t intend to win. Lastly, as Pain and Cruz have said don’t fight wars that are not in our national interest. Our youth must be protected from being use as fodder or pawns.
Pain = Palin
I thought this was going to be a story about Pakistan shaking us down, but nooo, it is Afghanistan. Karzai would be dead without our protection and the senior Afghanistan officials would all be executed by the Taliban. Why don’t we just tell Karzai how it is going to be or we will all take a long lunch break around his offices?
I would add we should scrap the Powell doctrine, if a country deserves us bombing the crap out of them, don’t expect us to pay to rebuild your worthless, corrupt, armpit country
Our guys need to reread Xenophon’s Anabasis.
You make a bubble of friendly territory, and push that bubble to the sea. Attack in front, Delay/withdraw in the rear, and have strong security on the sides.
Karzai can be in the last tank of the last colunm that withdraws. As we pull up to the border, he can decide to go with us, or stay.
Take a look at the terrain they would have to cross to get to the sea. Jagged mountain ranges with badlands between. Not an easy task. And the only easy route is threw the Khyber Pass and then into the lowland valleys with millions of Pakistani. The Russians had us by the nuts and Obama thought he could bluff em off.
Anyone attacking us would have to negotiate the same terrain. Xenophon’s 10,000 crossed the rough terrain now in eastern Turkey, to make it to the Black Sea.
The rains fall alike on the just and the unjust.

We're a joke in the ME...
We'll continue to be the world's prison bitch getting rolled by everyone until we decide otherwise. We can thank Liberals (again) for a new paradigm of failure. They love American failure unless it they are fighting for their Marxist principles. Then they are tigers and then there is no substitute for victory!
That's a considerable understatement.
I'm hard-pressed to think of a part of the world that ain't laughing at us now.
