Reuters) - Democrat Terry McAuliffe leads Republican Ken Cuccinelli by just 3 percentage points in the race for Virginia governor as the tightest U.S. governor's contest gets even closer, a Quinnipiac University poll showed on Wednesday.
McAuliffe, a businessman and former Democratic National Committee chairman, leads Cuccinelli, Virginia's attorney general, 44 percent to 41 percent, within the survey's margin of error.

The polling question specifically identifies Sarvis as a Libertarian. Very few if any of them will shift to the Democrat. Maybe half will shift to the Republican.
Then, among the undecideds, this is a three-way, not a two-way. Very few will be undecided between the Libertarian and the Democrat. Half are undecided between the major party candidates, and half between the Republican and the Libertarian.
There’s a lot of “secret strength” for the Republican in these numbers, because of the Libertarian in the race. Right now, I’m thinking, Republican 49, Democrat 47, Libertarian 4.
Telling jokes in bad taste are the purview of the Dumbcrap party. Republicans ought to know better.

True; The Old Dominion did tally more votes for the won than for the rino. But when we get a true Virginia-style conservative, Virginians come out of the woodwork to vote for him. Ken will benefit from this.
