Cuccinelli’s strong stands against illegal immigration could become problematic in Va.
Washington Post ^ | 09/18/2013 | By David Nakamura

When Sen. Marco Rubio joins Ken Cuccinelli II at a Richmond fundraiser Monday, the duo together will embody the two sides of one of the GOP’s chief challenges — immigration reform — as the party tries to win back purple states where Barack Obama stitched together a coalition of minorities and women in back-to-back national elections.

Rubio is one in a succession of GOP stars coming to Virginia to help Cuccinelli energize his campaign for governor against Democrat Terry McAuliffe. But Rubio’s visit does something else, too: It brings attention to the polar-opposite ways in which the two Republicans have struggled over the question of what do to about the estimated 11 million people in the country illegally.

Enforcing the law is “problematic”?

No it won’t. Only the former Romney staffers in his campaign believes that.

My guess is Rubio will not mention immigration reform, in his support of Cuccinelli.

That’s what the media wants, but I don’t think they will get it.

Then again with Rubio, you never know what you get.

We can expect one negative story after another about Cuccinelli from this infamous “newspaper” for the next month and one-half. Their approach will be mixed with what a horrible person he is, what an extremist he is, with “helpful” advice on abandoning positions he has taken that they don’t like. I remember the bit with the current governor; this “newspaper” must have had 20 stories about some term paper he wrote in college that they found “demeaning” to women. The “Post” is very predictable.

“With canceled tours, White House teaching how democracy works.” Reporter David Nakamura blamed not Obama but the “dysfunctional state of the union”:

Rubio is a traitor.

After being Schumer’s front-man, Republicans can never trust him again.

It’s a good thing we learned his character now.

...which explains why Cuccinelli has made up a lot of ground and is now in a virtual dead heat.

He hasn’t made up any ground. McAwful has lost ground. The more people learn about McAwful, the worse it will be for the Dims.

The question is whether the Libertarian will siphon away enough votes to be a spoiler.

A June survey by the Republican firm Harper Polling found that 86 percent of Virginians believed it was important to fix the immigration system this year, and 69 percent supported a path to citizenship for immigrants who paid fees and taxes and learned English over an extended period.

Yet another fake poll. Fines, taxes, english, heard this in 1986..

If the journalists and the politicians would get their heads out of the DC fog they'd realize that a very high percentage of US citizens are fed up with invaders taking jobs and costing the government a whole lot of money to subsidize.

A smart politician would hire a statistician to figure out what the unemployment rate would be in their state if invaders were sent home and US citizens took those jobs.

The Washington Post is upset that Ken Cuccinelli is appealing to his base.
