The son of a motorist arrested for allegedly hitting two Army recruiters and dragging one for nearly a mile Tuesday in Roseville said his father is legally blind and likely didn't see the two men.
He also was likely in the area panhandling for drug money, the son said.

without my glasses many people are legally blind. not a valid excuse.
panhandling for drug money. again, not a valid excuse. but possible explanation why he hit two pedestrians and dragged one for a mile.

I was gonna say your glasses must be in really high demand.
Perhaps he should have taken his glass eye out and washed it so he could see the damage he caused.

Uh, dude, if you can’t see well enough to drive without hitting people and dragging them off, and you drive anyway, doesn’t that amount to intent?
He just couldn’t see himself obeying the law?
He actually stopped and saw he was dragging the guy, got back in his car and kept going.
POS deserves a lot more time than he’ll ever get in MN.
5 years is the max he can get.
If the son is so concerned about him why is he letting his dad drive when he’s legally blind and conning people?
An Army spokesperson said both recruiters were going to recover.

The report I read said he stopped and kicked the victim that was stuck in the suspension of the car to dislodge him, then drove off.
At one point, the driver got out and looked under the Jeep before climbing back in the vehicle and continuing to flee, Rosand said.
“The recruiter even asked him for help, but he just sped away,” Rosand said.
