Australia's new conservative government on Thursday abolished an independent climate change commission set up by the previous Labor administration, as part of its plans to streamline bureaucracy.
Australia's chief scientist, Ian Chubb, told the ABC this week that the axing of any climate bodies would be a loss.

One thing for sure... specks on the sun have more to do with earth climate than less-than-specks in Washington DC. And we're entering a period without specks on the sun, which means COLD.

Less-than-specks in congress would benefit greatly by taking a field trip to the sun to get a better handle on controlling that big ball of fire.

Congressman Hank Johnson (D) was later quoted as saying if we have too many people on the sun — It could tip over. He couldn’t be reached for further comment.
