Health Premiums Up $3,065; Obama Vowed $2,500 Cut (Blast to the past. 9/24/2012)

During his first run for president, Barack Obama made one very specific promise to voters: He would cut health insurance premiums for families by $2,500, and do so in his first term.

But it turns out that family premiums have increased by more than $3,000 since Obama's vow, according to the latest annual Kaiser Family Foundation employee health benefits survey.

Premiums for employer-provided family coverage rose $3,065 — 24% — from 2008 to 2012, the Kaiser survey found. Even if you start counting in 2009, premiums have climbed $2,370.

What's more, premiums climbed faster in Obama's four years than they did in the previous four under President Bush, the survey data show.

There's no question about what Obama was promising the country, since he repeated it constantly during his 2008 campaign.

In a debate with Sen. John McCain, for example, Obama said "the only thing we're going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you. And we estimate we can cut the average family's premium by about $2,500 per year.

At a campaign stop in Columbus, Ohio, in February 2008, Obama promised that "We are going to work with you to lower your premiums by $2,500. We will not wait 20 years from now to do it, or 10 years from now to do it. We will do it by the end of my first term as president.

I’m surprised Obamabot Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer let that story get out.

Past experiences and common sense should tell everyone that when the government gets involved that nothing goes down in price.
Common sense and logic should tell one that if an insurance company is forced to insure the uninsurable, that the cost would be passed along to it’s consumers.

But the voting majority have common sense, logic or the brains to consider what is right in from of them.

You wonder if Democrats haven’t played their cards too soon.

Obviously, they would love everyone to clamor for single payer. That is the goal and Obamacare was considered an incremental step toward it.

But people are so disgusted with the whole thing, that the last thing they might clamor for is MORE government intervention in health care.

Wife and I just paid our health care premimum for one year (each). The initial premimum was <> $1500.00/each ($3000) approximately 15 years ago. The cost today is slightly over $3000/each ($6000) for a one year complete coverage.

Excellent insurance but getting more expensive every year.

Fox News quoting from Harry Reid's Biography...

“Democrat Reid writes: “`That speech was phenomenal, Barack,’ I told him. And I will never forget his response. Without the barest hint of braggadocio or conceit, and with what I would describe as deep humility, he said quietly: `I have a gift, Harry.”’”

We now know what the gift is... Obama can lie with sincerity and get an unusually large portion of the population to believe him no matter how illogical his argument. Many of the “believers” are in the press...

His latest...

"Raising the debt ceiling in order to legally raise the debt is not raising the debt... it's just raising the ceiling"... and no one in the press appears to be laughing, much less challenging a true WTF public statement. The guy is a comedian... not a leader.

I think even some Obamabots are a little freaked out by the financial implications of Obamacare for their businesses and even for their personal medical care. Granted, they should have been smart enough to see this much earlier - other people did - but they were blinded by their adoration of the perfect leftwing hero they had created in their minds.

Once a politician gets elected to a Federal office, they promptly forget about the “Fecal Federal Finger” effect.

Every area of endeavor that the US Federal Government touches with its Fecal Federal Finger always turns to Obamadung, Obama”care” has proven that.

Here is some more ammo, the next time you contact our sorry Federal Politicians:

GET THE DAMN FEDS OUT OF THE MEDICAL AND INSURANCE PROFESSIONS !!!!!!!!!

WE TAXPAYERS CANNOT AFFORD YOU DAMN PARASITE POLITICIANS !!!

_______________

The best way to fix a broken system is to SHUT IT DOWN, and THEN fix it.

Speaker Newt SHUT DOWN the US Federal Government in the 1990’s and it WORKED!

Clinton then took credit for balanced Federal Budgets, fewer people were in poverty, and all because Newt said NO !

The Liberal Agenda Media and the Democrats boo-hooed to this day, but Newt achieved success.

_____________________

The only way to force a spoiled brat to behave is to punish, punish, punish.

The worst punishment that a Democrat, or RINO can imagine is to take away their ability to spend our tax dollars.

The best way to do that is to shutdown the non-essential parts of the US Federal Government, starting with mothballing Air Force One.

______________________

Why not have the true Republicans require a BINDING, updated, “Federal Financial Impact Statement” for 2012-2013 fiscal year, and 2013-2014 f. y. for Obama”care?”

It should take a month or two to complete, allow for a vote to delay Obama”care” for a year, and then show the great financial harm to our Economy that the Statement’s numbers will document.

Wharton, Stanford, Michigan and Princeton could also file their independent Financial Impact Statements to compare to the Office of Budget and the Congressional Budget Office Financial Impact Statements.

As B. Hussein is fond of saying: “We need to get all the facts first.”
