Despite it being overwhelmingly clear that the American people want nothing to do with the civil war in Syria, the Pentagon has proposed entering the war. Under the proposal U.S. involvement will escalate from providing weapons to rebels via the CIA to direct support and training of rebel forces by the U.S. military.

Obama: no boots on the ground.

McCain: no boots on the ground.

Did Lindsey Graham, Peter King, Schumer, Boehner, Cantor, Reid, Pelosi and Steny Hoyer all say the same thing?

Just wondering...

I’m okay with boots on the ground - as long as they are full bird colonel or above that occupies them.

No! No, more getting involved in matters that don’t concern us or advance our national security interests.

It is as I suspected: the fix is in. We will see American troops deployed to Syria.

All the rest that you read is just Kabuki Theater for the reality-show junkies.

What purpose would it serve to put our soldiers in harm’s way there, other than getting more of our finest young men and women killed and maimed? What progress would be served by our presence there?

There is no redeeming reason for us to put any of our people in Syria. It’s not going to change a thing in regard to “peace” and will probably contribute to more instability.

Assad sucks, but his opponents are worse. We should stay the heck out of this. We have no dog in this fight except to not allow the muslim extremists to take charge. Let Assad finish the battle and be done with it.

This is a scenario that the pentagon was surely ordered to explore and report on.

No where does it state nor quote that the pentagon has an opinion or any advice on going into Syria. Nowhere does it say the pentagon proposed it except bunt the fictional headline.

This reads like a ‘the Vatican says...’ headline which invariably leads to no such finding in the article

I think direct communication is going to render these propagandists out of commission

FDR: “I have said this before, but I shall say it again and again and again: Your boys are not going to be sent into any foreign wars.”

To Obama, McCain, Graham, P. King, Schumer, Boehner, Cantor, Reid, Pelosi, Hoyer, Feinstein, Boxer and every other neo-whatever asshole who wants to intervene on the side of those subhuman, baby-murdering al-Qaeda terrorists...

YOU form the first wave and YOU put YOUR "boots" on the f***ing ground!!!

The State Dept. has long wanted to “solve” the Israeli-Arab conflict by putting US/NATO/UN “peacekeepers” around the borders of Israel (turning that nation into a giant ghetto)—
which would make Israeli retaliatory strikes impossible.

Next, after UN and EU resolutions, would come the “rollback” of Israel to the 1967 borders (as the entire would would demand); “pressured” or “forced” by the presence of US/NATO/UN troops (peacekeepers).

Somehow that starts with US troops in the Golan.

Watch for it...

Why limit boots on the ground to just training? Seems to me, if we are to aid Al-qaida, might as well have US forces lobbing scuds into Israel, making mayhem on Christians, issuing dull blades to US troops for application to necks, and, generally, free reign to reminisce like Ghengis Kahn...

Simply supplying rebels is an act of war.

Boots on the ground is an escalation.

I am just wondering how offended this admin will act when the Syrians start shooting back.

“Why are you attacking us?”

The lesson learned in Greece in the late 40’s was that US trained and led native forces could be quite effective. Those forces are motivated warriors needing training and direction.

The problem is weapons. The rebels need artillery and some air power would help.

Now that chemical weapons are out of the picture, another causis beli must be discovered by the coalition supporting the rebels that is adequate to support a greater role sans the USA wimp

Note that the coalition has US trained special forces capable of doing the job and in need of more powerful weapons.
