Cop caught on video forcing three family members to lie in the road at gunpoint after minor traffic dispute spiraled out of control in quiet neighborhood

A routine traffic stop quickly escalated out of hand after a transport cop forced three members of a family to lie down in the road at gunpoint.

Neighbors in the quiet suburb of Raintree Village near Toledo, Ohio, captured the incident on cell phone and posted it on YouTube.

Local police chiefs have suspended the officer after the footage attracted a lot of attention and questions were asked about how it had gotten so out of hand. Scroll down for video

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when mom-of-two Cassandra Meyers was pulled over by officer Eric Hart for a license plate violation.

When her father-in-law, Aaron Tatkowski, arrived on the scene in his truck with his girlfriend and Meyers’ two children.

Tatkowski has said he approached Officer Hart because he didn’t like the way he was speaking to his daughter-in-law.

He is reported to have said: ‘I’m [expletive] sick of you cops. I’m [expletive] sick of you harassing people for no reason.’

He hollered for me to get back in my truck, so I got back in my truck,’ Tatkowski told Toledo News Now. ‘Next thing you know, I'm yanked out of the truck and it made my girlfriend say a few things. He yanked her out of the truck.’

Tatkowski says the officer threw him, his girlfriend, his daughter-in-law, and 14-year-old son to the ground.

The police report says commands were not listened to, so Officer Hart got out his taser and handgun.

Tatkowski says he complied with Hart, but worried for his two granddaughters, who were still in his truck, so he asked witnesses to start recording what was happening.

When will we see police raiding government offices and throwing criminals on the floor at gunpoint?

Oh wait...the government people are like illegal aliens. They have the right to commit crimes without penalty.

....and that's when it started spiraling out of control.

excerpt: What type of crime is interfering with a police officer?

Any act that prevents or impedes an officer from performing his official duties can be characterized as interfering with a police officer. This can range from knowingly providing false information to an officer (especially if it is in reference to your identity or age), to purposely slowing his response to a crime scene or an investigation, to shouting insults or trying to draw a crowd when an officer is questioning or arresting someone. The latter is a special cause for concern, as as officer can find himself outnumbered and at personal risk for executing his duties.

Key phrase here is *minor traffic dispute*, IOW a piddly sh1t civil matter.

When you dovetail this sort of thing with swat teams busting into homes for relatively minor *suspected* offenses, and the fact that thanks to things like youtube informing a mass of people of the evolving police state, it’s really no wonder that the average person is primed to go off on cops.

We can reasonably assume now days that odds are not bad that we will be bullied and threatened by police in even minor situations. This is turning the citizen/police relationship into a powder keg. It is guaranteed to get worse.

Not sure of all the events that led up to the three people being ordered to the ground but that isn’t a gun he is pointing.....it is a taser.

I appears that a traffic stop occurred and others showed up and got involved.

One officer, two adults and a teenager. Outnumbered with a hostile group opposed to you....a good reason to handcuff people to keep from getting assaulted.

Not sure that pointing a taser at someone is excessive force.

I reserve final judgment because I’m not privy to the whole story....nobody got beat up and nobody got shot.

Not seeing the excessiveness here.

Article from the Local Toledo Blade.

http://www.toledoblade.com/Police-Fire/2013/09/18/WashingtonTwp-TPS-officer-puton-paid-leave.html

It seems Officer Hart has worked part time for the Washington Township as a
partol officer for the past two years. Hart is also an employee of the Toledo
Public Schools as a school resource officer and has been placed on paid
administrative leave awaiting the outcome of the Township incident.

“I appears that a traffic stop occurred and others showed up and got involved.”

Watch the DAMNED VIDEO before you side with this “doughnut muncher.” He let the situation get out of control by virtue of his poor handling. Where is his backup? Never showed up during the filming. This turd evidently is used to abusing kids at the local high school, and was woefully under trained to deal with a routine traffic stop! Then don’t you just love the Chief. “While the officer isn’t in trouble and did nothing wrong, we’ve put him on paid leave while we investigate!” Huh? So if he’s clearly not guilty of anything, why is there even an investigation? What a moron. It’s always the same story, they are all Sgt. Schultz!

I tend to see it the way you have described. Of course, what led up to this is missing and only one side of the story is presented.

Having seen videos that clearly document real police abuse or misconduct, I am skeptical of people’s motives when they jump to conclusions not supported by evidence. This video is not evidence of police abuse.

I’m very concerned about the police state mentality that is developing but assuming without evidence that every altercation was provoked by the police is absurd and detracts from real cases of police abuse that should be severely punished.

Yeah. It's a trailer park full of double wides. Denizens of such communities have that attitude in spades.
