There are 31 people confirmed dead in Saturday's attack at a Nairobi shopping mall, the Kenya National Disaster Operation Centre tweeted. "Bodies in the lobby area and ground floor to be removed," the organization added.
Several hours after the assault began, Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked militant group based in Somalia, claimed responsibility for the bloodshed.
There were also 100 people injured, the official said.
As darkness fell in Nairobi, authorities said as many as 36 hostages are still being held by the gunmen in the mall...
Americans were also injured in the attack, said Deputy State Department Spokesperson Marie Harf.
But the group said "there will be no negotiations whatsoever" at the mall. The extremists also said on Twitter that "all Muslims inside #Westgate were escorted out by the Mujahideen before beginning the attack."

The death toll in a hostage standoff at a Nairobi mall has risen to at least 39 dead and 150 wounded, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said in a televised address Saturday.
Is Drudge on vacation today? Anyway, if you see the videos CNN has been showing, it’s not just Africans who were in the Mall.
They need to just blow the innards out of the Terrorists just like the Nigerian Government has done to Boko Harum, only respoonse.

In this age of Islamic terrorism, concealed carry must be allowed. This won’t stop bombings, but it would minimize these kinds of attacks.
Clarification: I didn't mean to type "Saddam". Subconsciously did it.
Can we call this a WORLD RELIGIOUS WAR yet?
The war is over because they have one of their own in the White House.
A war, by definition, requires two sides. In attacks like this you have the guys with guns. And victims.
We stopped fighting back years ago. We are now in retreat. In a year, we will have effectively surrendered—or at least declared out neutrality.
