Skip to comments.Wasserman Schultz: GOP needs to reject tea party, ‘embrace sanity’

While you may get an argument on whether U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., is an authority on whats sane or not, the head of the Democratic National Committee said Friday that the GOP needs to embrace sanity when it comes to funding the government.
This is about an internal civil war going on in the Republican Party where clearly the tea party has won, Wasserman Schultz said in an interview with CNN after the Republican-controlled House passed a continuing resolution that will fund government while defunding Obamacare.
They are hurdling us toward government shutdown and economic crisis. It is unconscionable, irresponsible and entirely avoidable, she said. The ball is firmly in the Republicans court. They need to embrace sanity.

Single party rule. That’s worked so well everywhere it’s been tried hasn’t it deb?
Wasserman test is the last one who needs to talk about embracing sanity.
Medusa had better hair and a more pleasant mouth.
These guys are on a fence. They are going to fall down on the side, they are not expecting. We might get the best year of our lives.
What would this freak know about “embracing sanity”?
The USA needs to eschew snakes-for-hair.
You leave Nancy Grace out of this!
I say this in all seriousness...that is THE best pic I’ve ever seen of hers. Yikes!!!!
I find it funny how libs always want Republicans to reject "the extremists" and become more moderate.
They broke the economy long before we came along but that won't stop them from trying to lay the blame at our feet.
The war is between the Obamugabe Death Panel Cultists and the American people.
Spoken like a servant of king George.
She’s a beauty!
If they stand united, the gravy train is off the rails.
Ms. Blabbermouth-Shultz--will the GOP win more elections if they follow your advice? If so, that's very generous of you to offer this free advice to your opponents.
Whatzerface Schlutz needs to get a brain.
ha ha ha this coming from a nut who supports other nutcases and loon agendas like cross dressing, self mutilation , homosexuality and has no idea what made this country great
She’s not the only democrat who needs a brain. Democrats are referred to as the LEFT, because they place on the LEFT side of the Bell Curve.
She sounds awfully afraid to me.
isn’t it funny how the left loves to give us advice and then end it with “it would be better for their party”.
I thnk the best for the elft is to stop embracing radical communist agendas like homosexuality, anti gun laws and freedom of religion and they should get back into mainstream.
GOP needs to listen to DWS when it comes to sanity
Unless and until she figures out this is the rule, this is the rule: Listen carefully to what Wasserman-Schulz says. Then do the exact opposite.
The media is too biased toward the Democrats to ask Debbie W.S. the obvious question: How can the Tea Party be considered an extremist group when the majority of Americans agrees with its position on ObamaCare, which is the most important domestic issue of our time?
We are starting to see the main political theme from the Dems for the coming Fall and possibly are looking at a test of the theme for the 2014 elections. The Dems will try to cast their strongest opponents, the Tea Party/conservatives, as extremists. Because the Dems own the media, it is easy for them to advance any theme they choose.
I also noted Pelosi’s and Schumer’s comments. They are two of the most partisan politicians in US history and both are throwing out political messages this week that deserve examination. Schumer is casting the opposition to the Dems as extreme. Pelosi is adding to Schumer’s statements with comments about how non-partisan Obama is. The combination suggests that the Dems will try to silence the Repubs in coming months by leaving them no place in the political conversation. The Tea Party will be opposed to extreme spending and anti-Constitution legislative actions. The Dems will be aggressively pushing Argentinian and Swedish-style socialism. The Dems will try to force the Repubs to occupy the middle ground where there is no position and no one will notice them. Hence, the Repubs get no attention and The Dems, owning the media, can drive everything.
That’s my interpretation of the Dem strategy.
sad state to consider balance budget an extremist position, and those who want $1 trillion deficit are the moderates
Its the second time in a short period when the majority of America agreed with us crazies. The first was opposition to attacking Syria.
Debbie Whatshername Shitferbrains has the answer to ALL of America’s problems, doesn’t she?
Her talk is always directly proportional to when she rubs a quarter jar of mayonnaise in her hair. Hope there’s no toxic reaction to the tin foil.
The “mayonnaise marvel” knows not her a$$ from a hole in the ground.
That’s hilarious Debbie..you, talking about sanity..what next, Casey Anthony giving us all parenting lessons
Well, so much for leading by example...
My translation of Debbie’s obfuscation.
Debbie Wasserman Shultz: “Obey the Cathedral, Tea Baggers!”
like this person is qualified to give advice?
the dem’s are scared..I’m loving it.
Spending several times what you take in, the national scam called “disability” and enacting legislation for “free” healthcare that costs tens of thousands of people their jobs and even more their health care is insanity there, tootsie.
Looks like Medusa!
Fitting since the proposition that “sanity” means surrendering to out of control Statism is terrifyingly...well...insane.
why is it that I don’t see a government ‘shutdown’ as being bad at all?
This twit is lecturing us about embracing sanity !?!?!?!
LOL Listen, curly-locks, you wouldn’t know sanity if it bit you in the arse.
True with 0bama too. All dems do dat.
