How long before this starts happening in American malls?
“How long before this starts happening in American malls?”
-
About 10 years ago I was having a discussion about terrorism with my daughter. I said to her that frequent random attacks on malls/museums/supermarkets and the like would have more of an affect on most of us than a single huge attack like 9-11.
Very frightening.
.
I’ve been expecting just that for the last few decades. With the advent of those willing to engage by way of suicide bombings, both vehicular and while afoot, coupled with small arms, the likelihood has only increased.
I open and concealed carry depending on my mood and the locations visited. But I am never unarmed despite the inadequacy of the arms I carry. I keep a rifle or shotgun in my vehicle as well. One never knows when those weapons might be needed. Hopefully the need will never arise.
Soon - they no longer have Afghanistan and Iraq for a battleground - the streets of the USA next??
Tom Clancy wrote a book 'Teeth of the Tiger' that includes such a scenario. The shopping center/mall is one I'm familiar with and I've never quite gotten over that book .... it was very real to me. The terrorists also came in through the southern border.
IMO it's a matter of 'when' .... and while we're talking 'horrific', what if instead of a mall it's something like Beslan?
It already has. A Bosnian jihadist named Sulejman Talovic went on a shooting rampage in a Salt Lake City mall back in 2009.
Too soon.
Malls are very soft targets.
I would avoid them for awhile.
Anything you can buy there, you can buy online, from the safety of your own home.
