In recent columns in the mainstream press, columnists have been distorting gleefully the Pope's recent statements to make it appear he's the liberal that will bring the Catholic Church in line with their own agenda. (See: What the Pope really said.)
In actuality, Pope Francis is no more likely to approve gay marriage or homosexual activity than any other pope. If the media were less agenda-driven, they would be trying to debunk a miracle that defies explanation and which involves Pope Francis when he was a bishop in Argentina in 1996.
For many Christians, Holy Communion is a symbolic ritual, but Catholics believe it is in fact His divine body and blood. This sounds absolutely nuts, but it's a matter of faith. However, I had never heard about the Eucharistic miracle until a friend sent me a YouTube video explaining what it was all about.
On August 18, 1996 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at Holy mass, a woman discovered a discarded host on a candleholder and brought it to Fr. Alejandro Pezet who placed it in a container of water inside the tabernacle of the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament. The following Monday, August 26, upon opening the tabernacle, the priest was astonished to find that the Host had become a bloody substance and he notified his Bishop Jorge Bergoglio (now Pope Francis I), who gave instructions that the bloodied flesh be photographed. When the photographs were taken on September 6, the bloodied flesh had grown significantly in size. After it had been kept in the tabernacle for a few years the Bishop decided to have it scientifically analyzed since it had not suffered any visible decomposition.

The entire article is well worth a read IMHO!
The priest (or maybe someone else) can consume it if it's not gotten unfit to eat in some way. Who would stick a consecrated host on a candlestick like that? If they didn't want it, they shouldn't have taken it or returned it to the Eucharistic minister.
A: A host which has been partially consumed in some way may be disposed of by placing it in water until it has dissolved, and then pouring the water into the sacrarium or into the ground.
Well, I don't see where they did anything too wrong. It should take some time to dissolve.
While searching for the answer, I read that they are not supposed to use those huge hosts. They are supposed to be smaller than the diameter of the chalice in case some particles fall off. I've been to masses with large hosts and received pieces of them which I thought was kind of special but maybe they aren't supposed to do it.
I've never seen one of those huge ones used, found several pictures on a website.
Although I believe in separation of church and state, I also believe in separation of homosexuality and church, of abortion and church. The church cannot allow sin into its midst and still remain the church. The Left won’t be satisifed until there are homosexual abortion doctor priests.
It is an interesting article. I shall mull it around more after I review the links. The key point will be the verification the host was kept free of all contamination other than the original desecration.
I'll confess to being a Drudge headline reader who's gotten a bad impression of the current Pope. Shame on me. They, the MSM, hate him and what he stands for only slightly more than they hate us I suppose.
But getting the discussion back to the media spinning of Pope Francis: I do wonder how many people here actually read Pope Francis' 12,000 word interview?

It's Christ-centered, evangelical, and beautiful. In fact, I didn't think there's anything in it that an Evangelical Christian couldn't enthusiastically endorse or at least understand favorably; and there's plenty there to challenge left and right alike.
It glorifies Jesus Christ and radiates goodwill toward other people of goodwill whomever they may be.
The liberal media have done their usual cultural vandalism on it: select, discard, crop, and frame. If you read the whole thing I assure you it will be well worth your time.
She says the Eucharist is the Body of Christ; that she is a practicing Catholic; and that it sounds nuts.
She also says it is a matter of faith.
I once went to Mass at Mother Angelica’s Church of Our lady of the Angels.
The priest, a very devoted priest, whom I’ve seen often since, said, holding up the Eucharist, that it was Jesus, the Body of Jesus, whether we believed it or not.
So, it is not the Body of Christ if we believe it, as the writer says, It’s the Body of Christ no matter what we believe.
I am continually amazed at the number of people here to routinely denounce the NYSlimes and the rest of the MSM as untrustworthy on political issues, yet they parrot the MSM’s lies and mis-direction about the words of the Pope and most other Christian leaders. I can only guess wonder WHY they follow the MSM’s mis-leading on whatever the Pope says like lemmings.

“The Left wont be satisifed until there are homosexual abortion doctor priests.”
Yep. And not just in Roman Catholic churches but in all Protestant and Eastern Orthodox ones as well. And even then they will never be satisfied. To be leftist requires one to never be satisfied.
As for the MSM, I'm sure they are in for a shock, as they discover that the Pope is indeed Catholic :-)
Fascinating. I also never heard of this miracle before reading this.
The full article mentions the Lanciano miracle. Here’s an extract, with part of what is said. Fascinating:
“Yet this was only the beginning of what would be a phenomenal enigma. DNA tests on the sample showed it to be that of a male, AB positive blood type. What is extraordinary about this fact is that the DNA is the exact same match as another Eucharist ‘miracle’ that took place in the 8th century in Lanciano, Italy confirming that both samples came from the same person.”
“As for the MSM, I’m sure they are in for a shock, as they discover that the Pope is indeed Catholic :-)”
I’m a Protestant and I’m fully looking forward to that event myself. :)
