At least 24 people have been shot, five of them fatally, in Chicago since Friday, police said.
The weekend violence began just one day after 13 people were injured in a Chicago park.
The victims from Thursday's shooting included 10 males and three females, including 3-year-old Deonta Howard -- known as "Tay-man" -- who was shot in the jaw and listed in critical condition.
Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said an assault style rifle with a high capacity magazine was used in the park shooting.
McCarthy added that based on witness interviews, the attack appears to be gang-related, as several of the victims are gang members. It is still unclear whether more than one person opened fire, he said.

Best thing they can do is bring in the National Guard and I mean bring them in fully armed, not as targets without ammo.
These shootings do not happen in a vaccum, the perps and victims have history ... Bet on it.

The problems here are in the families and in the neighborhoods. It’s not about the legality of firearms.
So long as the media and various governments ignore black terrorism, it will continue. A serious nation would not pretend the problem doesn’t exist.
I’m not sure but if anyone is interested go to wired .com they have a detailed article on the gangs of Chicago. It seems there is no leadership to impose order. There’s a shocking 70,000 gang members in small loosely affiliated groups. Most under 20 who taunt each other on social media. Why Chicago and not NYC or LA is not sure.
Good chance there is gang crap: turf wars, drug crap, somebody dissed somebody, or somesuch going on. Either that or Rahm is beaming microwaves at the hood.
Also I live here what’s weird is its mostly the same gang...the Gangster Disciples all shooting each other.
Sure, Rahm is stupid enough to say that.

I have a feeling that at this rate, by next spring Chicago will be a in full civil war mode. The coming cold weather will most likely keep the violence down somewhat.
Haven’t done that in a while. Currently busy with the 96 hour South Park marathon they are streaming.
In the old days (pre-Capone) there were leadership squabbles within the mob. They were a mite more sanitary about settling their differences (less collateral damage). They were criminals, yes, but not so much terrorists like the current crop.
