WATCH: Father Forcefully Ejected From Town Hall Forum for Asking Common Core Question
Fox News Insider ^ | Sep 21 2013 | FNC

A father in Towson, Maryland, was forcefully ejected from a local town hall forum for asking the wrong question. Robert Small had concerns over the Common Core education initiative, feeling that it was dumbing down the curriculum in his local school district.

"My question is, how does lowering America's educational standards prepare kids for community college?" asked Small, before soon being approached by a security guard — who was also an off-duty cop — and being dragged away from his seat.

The outspoken father then implored the crowd to take action. "Don't stand for this," said Small. "You're sitting here like cowards. You have questions!" Apparently, Small didn't follow the proper protocol of submitting his question in writing ahead of the meeting, which is why he was taken outside, and eventually arrested. Small now faces jail time for the incident, or a fine of up to $2,500. Watch the outrageous footage above.

I’d be sitting in jail or (most likely) dead right now... I am completely serious. I’ve gotten this treatment before... I will snap if I see it happening to someone else who is in the right.

Common Core has been adopted in all private schools in Arizona. So, what would do you do now? Take your kids out of all public and private schools? You got time to homeschool a couple of kids?

Common Core has been adopted in ALL PRIVATE schools in AZ? That is crazy. Is it in all of AZ's public schools, too?

Most the time they will stay and listen but only if people there don't stand for the
authoritarian process rules implemented to protect their own jobs. The fact that
they went to the card-question control should be enough to vote them out.
I would have stood up and shouted at the members to listen and stop the officer. Nuts.

...all private schools in Arizona.

Well, I can't have much to say about in Georgia, it but my dear departed Dad once lived there in the 1920's. I also feel a little old to participate in a meeting on education. This falderal about Common Core seems specious because school curriculums progressively have been dumbing down since the 1950's. My fortieth High School Reunion tour of the school became very depressing when the current principal explained the differences between the education they provide and ours in the sixties and seventies. They had not adopted Common Core.

I have thought the same about the BSA. Accepting gays was only one minor bump in the long road toward the destruction of the institution.

“Common Core” is just the name used to turn out more kids that can’t read, write or think for themselves.

Public schools turn out followers. Home school and private Church schools will be the ones that turn out leaders and thinkers.

What’s the difference between CC and what they have been doing for the past 40 or so years?

Couldn’t this be just viewed as the next step in Dewey’s vision for centralized control of the education process of America?

“What would have you done?”

You have to meet force with force, and that calls for electing a constitutional sheriff in your county. If you can’t do that, prepare to be stomped.

His did push his point pretty far, but assault on a police officer? I could only see the back of his shirt, but it said security, not police.

It was an off duty police officer who apparently showed him credentials. However the only pushing I saw in the video was this police officer pushing the man. The officer was also getting right up in his face while the man was trying to avoid being close to the officer and speak his mind before he had to leave. If the man pushed back at some point off camera, I have to ask the question...if this means the man "assaulted" the police officer, then why should we not consider the police officer to have "assaulted" the man first? While I don't think the officer is guilty of anything more than trying to get the man to shut up and leave, I have a hard time thinking the man was guilty of anything more than wanting to speak his mind before being forced to do so.

Yes, more of what has been taking place for a generation or better, and yes, Dewey is a Founding Father. I would say that how it differs from the past is only that it has been unified across the entire national spectrum, and codified in a consistent manner that makes it a readily useful tool to shape education coast to coast with a single system.
