Black mob violence and black on white crime has not destroyed the entire American Tobacco Trail. Only the small chunk that goes through Durham, North Carolina.
The high crime part. The gang-infested part. The poor part. The urban part. The part that local media calls every name imaginable except one: The black part.
Otherwise, most of the 22.5 miles of this trail is a safe, sometimes bucolic experience for runners, bikers, strollers even equestrians. As long as they stay away from the trail near Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
Since 2011, dozens of people have been beaten, robbed, pushed off bikes and threatened in that part of the trail. All of the suspects in this violence and mayhem are black.
Though most of the time the local media is loathe to say so. Either refusing to give a description, or doing what WRAL did in the latest attack: The TV station described one of the attackers as having a “dark complexion.”

Last August, a group of black people beat a jogger at 7:30 p.m. On the trail.
They did not rob him.
“The simple assaults don’t appear to be motivated by robbery,” the Durham Chief of Police told WRAL TV. “It appears to be motivated more by mischievousness and the locations where they find individuals who are clearly running by themselves.”

White individuals and businesses would be wise to stay away from any road, street, lane, drive etc. that begins with "Martin Luther King Jr."
As a 5-year (thankfully former) resident of Durham, I can tell you it’s unsalvageable. It is proof of what happens when a medium-sized urban area (about 250,000 including the surrounding county) falls victim to the unholy combination of liberal guilty white academics, illegal alien sanctuary city activists, and black racist politicians out to “get theirs.” It used to have one of the most successful black entrepreneur populations in the entire country, now it is a drug-ridden, crime-ridden hellhole. And the sad irony is, it sits next to one of the most successful biotechnology and IT business areas in the country (Research Triangle Park).
I’m still subscribed to my old neighborhood association email list from Durham, and keep seeing reports about the problems on the ATT (which is a “rail trail” that follows along the old Southern Railway spur that used to serve the cigarette factories in Durham decades ago). My neighborhood was almost exclusively liberal, being fairly close to Duke, and seeing the handwringing emails agonizing over what to do about the ATT and begging for more police patrols is nauseating when a couple of CCW-carrying bikers could put a huge dent in the problem by removing a couple of the local yoots from the gene pool.
But...Durham is the ONLY jurisdiction in the entire state of North Carolina where handgun registration is mandatory (much less even allowed), thanks to a Jim Crow-era exemption in the state’s firearm laws. And getting a CCW for your registered handgun in Durham, while allegedly following the same process as the rest of NC, is far slower and more difficult.

Wilmington NC did it best. Named a portion of freeway with NO residential areas as MLK Blvd. no peeps, no problem....
NC changed its CC laws to allow carrying in parks and parades, among other changes.
Goes into effect Oct 1, next Tues.
We might see some action on the trail.
I use the trail at the lower end around Apex/Cary. Great birding spot.
Once Bernanke can't print anymore money and the economy finally tanks. . .The reality of 90 trill in unfunded liabilities comes crashing down. . .the "gumment" no longer has money for welfare, section 8 housing, public services, law enforcement, food stamps. . .When that day comes, know that we will be facing millions of people who see no recourse but to take "their" stuff from the rich by any means necessary. Now, its stealing Kindles on the Metro, . . .then, it will be gangs manning intersections and demanding "payments" from anyone fool-hearty enough to venture into public territory alone and unarmed.
The "Great Society" has promulgated not just a generation of entitled people, but a heritage of entitlement. Obama has already enabled them with his assertion that the "rich" refuse to "give their fair share." To the entitled, it is the dog whistle that proclaims: THEY HAVE MY STUFF!! When Obama finally reveals that the gumment is out of money. . .he will surely point to "the rich" and, in doing so, he is directing the entire entitled hordes to have at them. . .He will be telling them that the government can't take care of you because "they" (the rich and white) have your stuff. The real news is that those engaged in the stealing, beatings and murders FEEL ENTITLED. .they do not feel they are committing crimes. . .they have NO GUILT and no conscience. This is the inevitable conclusion to the heritage of entitlement.
Unless blacks and whites, who pay taxes and desire a civil society, stand together upon the rule of law and the founding vision of the country. . .our future is, indeed, a bleak one for all of us.

I've started carrying in my own neighborhood when I'm walking the dog.
It is a peaceful, quiet suburb area, and there has never been any gang trouble, and I am not going to become its first, unarmed victim.
I could be attacked, but it won't be a one way street with gang-bangers vs an unarmed citizen.
What is truly nauseating are the comments by guilty, white liberals saying the victims must have been doing something to provoke the attackers. That’s right...some 130 lb, single, white person is going to provoke a gang of muscular, black youths by hurling insults at them. I bet that happens a lot. (snicker) At some point these feral, black youths are going to attack the wrong person and a number of them are (hopefully) going to get themselves shot. Hopefully as well the word will spread.
Until the “folks” have had enough of the “rabid animals” that roam the streets and malls looking for victims, and actually DO SOMETHING to correct it, nothing will change.
Somebody make some more popcorn please.....
I anticipate a CCW and a few dead “youts” MIGHT solve some of this.

Put white decoy cops out as old people, runners, bikers, etc and nab the perp(s)in the act. If deadly physical force is needed...so be it......the assaults and robberies would come to screeching halt.
I too carry on my dog walks.
To not carry is to choose to be defenseless.

Large parts of the USA are unusable due to this violence. Others are useless due to jihadis taking over. Little by little the hellhole areas expand, and half of Americans just watch more kim kardashian.
Maybe one day Americans get their fingers out of their noses and realize what’s happening, and kick the jihadis out and stop liberal policies that have nourished a permanent violent underclass.
Or maybe they just watch more kim kardashian.
It will not be Obama that will tell of the day when the Government can no longer afford the payments to the entitlement crowd. He may be the reason the money is no longer there ,but he will not be there at the time. He will be sitting back in Hawaii with Reggie laughing his ass off at the Government he destroyed.
