Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay tells Newsmax that he is planning a book and a lecture tour now that an appellate court has overturned the criminal conviction that put his career on hold for seven long years. …

At a time when House Republican leaders such as Speaker John Boehner are under fire from the right for not pushing a conservative agenda and younger tea party House members are criticized for driving their colleagues to the right, the Texan won’t get into name-calling among the Republican side of the aisle he once dominated. …

Newsmax asked DeLay about the famous quote of former Secretary of Labor Ray Donovan in 1987 after his own acquittal on corruption charges: “Which office do I go to to get my reputation back?” “I don't feel that way, because I never felt my reputation was hurt,” he told us, “God was with me the entire time. I imagine his book will be greeted by a lot of Liberal reviewers saying, “I still think he’s guilty ...”

Sorry to intrude on the beatification of St. DeLay, but isn’t this the same guy who held open the Medicare Part D vote debacle, so he could pace the House floor handing out bribe checks to RINOs and threatening conservatives with primary opponents if they opposed it?

According to the constitution once the house voted to impeach Clinton, it should have been delivered to the senate the next day. I was in Delay’s district and faxed him about this. He didn’t reply. He and the rest gave the press several months to make it “all about sex”.
