Exclusive–Source: McConnell, Cornyn Whipping Votes Against Ted Cruz
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | September 23, 2013 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 09/24/2013 5:39:19 AM PDT by Timber Rattler

A source in Congress tells Breitbart News that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn are using their leadership positions to pressure other Republicans to oppose Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in his campaign to defund Obamacare.

"Right now in the Senate, Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn are actively whipping Senators to shut down debate on the House continuing resolution so that Harry Reid can gut it with just 51 votes,” a senior congressional staffer with intimate knowledge of the situation said in an email to Breitbart News. “Unbelievably, they actually are leading the fight to fully fund Obamacare.”

I just tried the Dallas office and mailbox is full. I sent an email. This whole thing makes me sick. Everything Obama touches is bad for the USA and these so called Republicans lie down and pant for him like puppies. I hope all the low info voters that voted for Obama get hit with huge bills for this.

When he calls asking for my vote, I’ll tell him: “I’m sorry, that mailbox is full, and I’ll be voting for your challenger”.

Good one. I’m gonna do that too.

As much as the naysayers say a 3rd party would not work out for us, they are living in the past. I think the time is ripe for a third party. It would create huge turnout with everyone that are sick to death of being run over by the one political party in DC.

Then why are you here? You've already given up. Go to a forum for whiners.

You lose 100% of the battles you don't fight.

Ted Cruz has done more tonight to put pressure on the liberal GOP than all of your whining ever will.

Sod off.

I am voting against George P Bush- I think he’s running for Railroad Commissioner, because I can’t stand Jeb. He thinks he has it made because he is a Bush.

He is running for RR Commissioner, and that is a very bad idea. RR Commissioner is a very important office in Texas, and we don't need a damn globalist sitting in that chair.

The Texas electrical grid needs to remain disconneced from the rest of the US. Giving that up, means giving up our independence.

The GOP establishment thinks they can nip this thing in the bud and things will go back to normal. If they succeed in stopping Cruz then I say 2014 and 2016 will be watershed elections for the Democrats because it will be the official end of the GOP because their entire conservative wing will have abandoned them for good. No more putting up with RINOS like McCain and Romney as presidential candidates. No more marshamallow leaders in congress like Boehner and McConnell. No more listening to establishment GOP types in the media like David Brooks and Charles Krauthammer telling you and I we need to expand the tent and find common ground with our enemies. No, this will be the final nail in the coffin for the GOP, and sadly it means we probably have to put up with a President Clinton again!

You know what I find interesting? I left a message for Sen. Cruz last night and again this AM...absolutely no problem getting through and you know his phone lines are burning up.

However, last night and this AM, I have called all of Cornyn’s offices and either can’t leave a message or it’s busy. I’m wondering if he’s taken all the phones off the hook. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe his phone lines are really burning up with lots of angry callers. I wanted to ask someone in his office what his plans are...I’m still waiting for him to show up on the Senate floor to speak either pro or con. But nothing!

Apparently he’s forgotten he works for us! If he won’t take calls from his constituents, he needs to go! If he is actively working against Sen. Cruz, he needs to go! If he doesn’t speak up soon, I will do everything in my power to oppose him next year. Texas is a big state and we need more than one honorable, conservative Senator!

Well, I emailed a screed and then called and actually got through to the NRSC. I had to apologize to the poor girl who answered because after trying to reach Cornyn all night and all morning, I’m beyond furious. I really laid it on the line and after excoriating Cornyn, I told her I would do everything in my power to ensure that none of the RINOs who aren’t supporting Sen. Cruz are never reelected. She got my message!

THANKS!

Shutting down Obamacare is the desire of The American people.

Shutting down Military pay is the goal of Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

Obama, Reid and Pelosi are using this battle over shutting down Obamacare to spin it into blame on the Surrender Republicans for shutting down “The Government,” starting with the US Military, as usual.

The litmus test for future membership in THE NEW REPUBLICAN PARTY is lack of fear of being blamed for trying to shutdown Obamacare.

Contact your US Senator today, ESPECIALLY if your Senator is a Democrat.

Good for you!
Sometimes the people on the phones are interns....but they do pass on the wrath!

The real slime are the ones that slither thru the halls of congrss....STAFFERS...and then there are the hand wringing, whiney consultants.

Good Job!

I’m sick of Bush’s and Clinton’s (and Obama’s too for that matter) in politics.

Sort of like social security and Medicare

Because it wasn’t fought so strongly in the 30s and 60s, we are stuck with both socialist programs.

The R’s need to go further and defund ALL entitlements and thusly force a negotiation where at minimum Obamacare is gone

I am uncertain if George P. will even have an opponent. Republican primary voters in TX still like Bushes. They’ve been asleep at the switch for 14 years now.

The people answering the phones don’t likely know anything about what the fuss is about. They are minimum-wage workers. No reason to get angry with them

“It is not confusing at all to anybody paying attention. The GOP is preemptively surrendering. The Surrender Party is intent on funding kenyancare without even an engaged battle over it”.

With all respect to your view, I dis-agree. Until I heard about Walgreens, Home Depot, UPS and hundreds of others dumping their employees on the exchanges, I would have agreed with your statement. But, now it is all clear to me. I “get it”. The McCains, Cornyns, McConnells and their ilk in the Senate and house have SOLD OUT to these huge corporations. The corporations are in love with Obamacare (stupidly) because, using Walgreens as an illustration, unloading 180,000 employees health insurance onto us taxpayers is a big, big boon to Walgreens bottom line. That the long term damage to their business from a shrinking economy is beyond the capability or comprehension of short term and self absorbed US executives with room temperature IQ is not surprising. US executives are good at driving big companies into oblivion after they individually get rich.

NO SIR! McConnell and McCain and Cornyn have been bought off and have sold their constituents down the river for personal monetary gain and they now WANT OBAMACARE to become the law of the land and NOT have it defunded. In my opinion, what is going on is that simple! Throughout history including during and before the Revolutionary War the US people have had to endure crooks in positions of power. John Cornyn and John McConnell are just crooks in that long line of crooks just as Ted Cruz is a patriot in that long and glorious line of patriots. That McConnell and Cornyn and McCain will now try to claim “we’re defunders” back in their home districts is what all voters need to be prepared for. In Texas, we will take care of Cornyn if he comes anywhere close to supporting Harry Reid on this defund CR.

McConnell and Cornyn are doing more damage than any Rat could right now.

They are worse than any Rat, even Harry Reid, what it boils down to.

Damn them.
